Oh I sure hope so. Started playing it these days. I'm looking forward to all the twists and turns with Ouroboros. It was interesting seeing these events in Crossbell from afar, from the Erebonian perspective in CS2. Though it seems to me that Crossbell's quest for independence will ultimately be in vain, since at the end of CS2 they get annexed anyway. A shame, I would have rooted for them prior to playing the Cold Steel games.

It was Weissman himself who was Joshua's contact person. Weissmann put a spell on him to forget. He explains all this to Joshua in the scene in the end. That's the reason he is everywhere they are. And he also puts spells on other people to forget his face. Hence the name faceless because they can't remember his face. He basically does that to Estelle.

Oh interesting! I somehow completely missed the possibility that the contact-person could have been Weissmann himslf. It just sounded to me like Weissmann was talking about a third person, who was different from Weissmann (and different from Joshua, obviously). Joshua tells contact-person -> contact-person tells Weissmann - that's how I always thought it was. I'm just confused why people would remember the name "Weissmann" when thinking about their loss of memory and this mysterious person they talked to. The screen in SC, when Estelle tries and fails to remember Professor Alba, blurs out not only the face but also Alba's name in the dialogue-box after he did put a spell on Estelle. This is evidence I think that Estelle in particular didn't remember a name "Weissmann (the Faceless)" - so why should Kurt, Richard or other people remember this name when Estelle doesn't? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I don't remember all the details, but he was probably talking about himself as Alba. If I remember correctly Joshua sometimes gets headaches and that's because his memory of their meeting was erased. Weissmann just chooses what they should remember or not, he's just called the faceless, not the nameless. I guess he chose to erase his name from her because of her strong connection to Joshua. If she could give the other bracers a name they would know.

@@Weirdwolf81 Hm, this possibility totally slipped my mind. Yeah, Weissmann choosing what his victims should forget and what they should remember makes sense. Many people could call him "the Faceless", not just his victims; I guess you are right. Your explanation of why Estelle didn't remember his name is a good one - I like it.

Can't say I'm 100% correct though about everything, but that's the closest I can get right now, haha. It was nearly 2 years since I played them now. Now I'm just looking forward to play Kuro no Kiseki 2: Crimson Sin. I played the first one with a fan translation. But I'll probably replay the long awaited localizaton of Hajimari no Kiseki aka Trails into Reverie this summer. Good times for us Trails fans lies ahead!

@@Weirdwolf81 I personally avoid the fan-translations for one reason. They at Geofront did an amazing job with this dedication and passion, don't get me wrong (and it's really cool that it has been acknowlged by the developers with letting them help with official translations, if I'm informed correctly), I just want to fully go the legal route this time. Had enough Nintendo-emulations used in my youth, haha. Yeah, good times lie ahed of us Trails-fans indeed. I still can't fully comprehend that we have the... luxury (?) of only needing one platform - PC - to play all Trails-games localized in the West. That's amazing. I see no reason Falcom would stop this practice, so I'm looking forward to be playing the Calvard-arc in this fashion as well. But I, unlike others, have the advantage of being behind in having played/completed all these games and arcs, so while I take my time catching up with the overarching story, other games will get localized as well in the near and medium future.

I started the series during the pandy, played through Sky arc, I'm now on Chapter 4 of 5 on Zero, with Azure Pre-ordered. I loved the Sky arc, but Crossbell has been even better, and I hear Azure is better than Zero so I'm super excited for it. It's my favorite series now, and I feel withdrawal when I'm not playing it. The few months I waited for Zero to release was hard. I feel bad for everyone who waited over a decade to play it! The good thing about starting now, or in the future is you have a thousand plus hours of gameplay before you are caught up, and the waiting begins

Thanks for your story of your experiences with the Trails-series. :) Will you play Cold Steel as well? "the pandy"! XD I always forget that Trails into Reverie exists - one more game to go through, yay! Sky 1 and 2 were already peak storytelling and character-development - how can Zero and Azure even top this? Part of me refuses to believe this, but it seems I'm in for a hell of a ride. I'm sorry you're feeling withdrawal - I hope you can manage it. Yeah, I too am glad that I don't have to wait too long to play these games. I make sure to be taking my time with them. For me, New Game+ somewhat helps - you have a rewarding experience (IMO) breezing through the story with your insanely strong/overpowered characters (or some challenge-seeking people are even free to play Nightmare) and you get to know the game and characters even better with looking at them from different angles.
