@@hiroshiramasendjews9539 imo, I think people that say "OMG BC COPIED EVERY ANIME" is kind of a bit exaggerated I won't lie. While yes, Tabata got inspired to make this type of anime from other anime creators which is dbz for a primary example, but for the most part it's kind of unique in their own unique way that makes me kind of like the show. That's just my opinion about it. I even started hearing people compare this anime to mha which shouldn't even be compared. The only thing common, but different at the same time was deku not having a quirk just like Asta not having Mana, but Asta is the only human being without Mana and Deku is one of the 20% of the population without a quirk and society is very different. I think you are allowed to take element and ideas from other anime's, but other then that I think this anime is pretty goated. One thing that painfully annoys me is also the fact that when naruto takes elements and ideas from other anime's, for some reason people tend to ignore it and baffles me, although at least the naruto fans don't like boruto which I can definitely respect. I mean the ten gates, the aura's, the transformations, and most other things in naruto are similar to dbz powerups and yet, I still don't call it a "definitely" cliche anime. If you catch up to the manga itself or the current episodes, you'll see what I mean.

Friends of mine keep talking shit about black clover and one hasn’t even watched it yet, their only reason for why its bad was because of the animation, sure there were some moments but the fight scenes are genuinely well animated. I’ve watched every episode, and it’s average at best. It gets better with time, but the worst part of the show for me is the sakuga. They put pennies into everything other than the fight scenes, and sometimes even those don’t look that good. Otherwise, it’s characters you’ve basically seen in other anime, and the pacing this guy talks about? Huh? I really sat through whole episodes of no plot progression whatsoever. 5/10 for sureeee.

Pacing chorography reused frames frames out in loops and the unnecessary over use of flashy colored effects drags it down heavily. Manga>old one piece anime>new one piece anime. People have invested too much time or they're blinded by nostalgia if not that then they're just little kids which will love anything that has fighting and colors.

Yes it seemed generic, and yes Asta was annoying, but as soon as a boy with no magic somehow received a grimoire l just couldn't *Help* but start watching BC. l started 3 months ago and oh boy l wish l started sooner. BC is the only shonen where the generic stuff is done right. Also Asta and Yuno have the HEALTHIEST and most idealistic rivalry ever. Compared to Naruto where he was throwing Sasuke into mountains and Sasuke was hitting him with CHidori's in the face trying to kill him.......... Also before ya bring up Hunter x Hunter. Im 100% sure Killua and GOn was a great friendship not rivalry. Also it has some of the best world building l have EVER seen and one of the best power scaling systems. I would say better than Hunter Hunter even.

The author of Black Clover is a foreshadowing and plot twists genius and people don’t give him enough credit for that. Also, his character designs are immaculate. To be 10/10 in over three categories is something unheard of. Here are some of the things that were perfectly foreshadowed (SPOILERS) These are some of the things that were foreshadowed so far are: In Chapter 70, Vanessa, seeing Asta fighting Vetto, is glad to have left her home and become a Black Bull, noting that the thread of fate is something reeled in yourself. In Chapter 99, it's revealed that she was imprisoned by the Witch Queen for her potential to control destiny. Motivated to save her friends, she manifests the Red Thread of Fate, a spell that makes destiny favor the Black Bulls. In Chapter 110 Yami wonders how Mereoleona is able to maneuver mid-air to attack Asta. Chapter 138 reveals it to be Mana Zone, an ability to harness the floating mana in the surrounding area and control the territory at will. Chapter 2 shows the silhouettes of different Black Bulls. Mostly they're all revealed shortly after when Asta joins the squad, but there is a notably messy, long-haired member who is not introduced with them. Chapter 5 also has Asta notice that the hideout's interior changed. Come Chapter 140 and the reveal of Henry and his Recombination Magic. Yami mentions to Asta during his initial encounters with the Black Bulls that some of their members are off on missions. Zora happens to be one of them who comes into play later. As well as the Black Bulls' spy within the Spade Kingdom. Gauche guesses that because Grey can transform other objects, her magic isn't actually the same as what is commonly known as Transformation Magic, and that if she experimented with it, she would figure out what the true purpose actually is. Many chapters later, Grey reveals that it actually lets her alter magic itself, transforming is only one aspect of it. Chapter 2 has William Vangeance take note of Asta's five leaf grimoire. Chapter 143 reveals that Vangeance is friends with Patry and the host of his soul. Asta's grimoire originally belonged to Licht, whom Patry was closely acquainted with before the elf genocide. In Chapter 51, after being defeated by Gauche's Mirror Magic, the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun says, "I couldn't bring myself to hurt you." Gauche says he has no idea what this means, and he's not lying. It's not until almost a hundred chapters later, in Chapter 149, that we find out the significance of this line: Gauche is one of the Magic Knights hosting an elf soul. In Chapter 66, an Eye of the Midnight Sun member senses a beast in Charmy's magic. Previously, when she fought Catherine, Charmy's giant sheep inhaled her Ash Magic. In Chapter 194, she's revealed to have Food Magic, with her giant sheep actually being a hungry wolf that eats magic. When Vetto opens his Evil Eye, he unleashes eerie magic that Yami describes as abominable. The reincarnated elves are also afflicted with malice as a side effect of the Forbidden Magic, hinting at its sinister origins. Chapter 148 shows Lumiere used Light Magic, described as being incredibly rare, and he hoped that humans and elves could understand each other and live in harmony. Despite this, the elves were killed by Light Magic believed to have been Lumiere's. And in Chapter 195, when Mimosa finds the unconscious body of David, who was taken over by an elf, she notes that there are faint traces of magic floating around that belong to neither humans nor elves. It's revealed in Chapter 196 that it wasn't Lumiere who was the mastermind of the massacre but Zagred, who lied to the royals and used a magic tool containing Lumiere's magic to kill the elves. Zagred, a devil from the underworld, had reincarnated the elves' souls with Forbidden Magic instead of Licht as believed. In Chapter 159, it's stated that the soul of the elf in Digit Taliss's body is angrily rampaging, with blotches of his skin darkening. Chapter 163 has the elf in Luck's body described as having something ominous swelling up in his magic and about to change into something evil as he's consumed by anger. In Chapter 198, Zagred revealing the truth of the elf massacre causes Patry to fall into despair, transforming him into a rampaging dark elf. Since being introduced in Chapter 2, unlike other anti-birds, Nero has followed Asta since the Magic Knights Entrance Exam and shown a high amount of intelligence, drawing Asta's attention to anti-Magic swords and pointing out the magic stones to the Black Bulls, with the Witch Queen noting Nero to be more than it appears to be. Chapter 203 reveals that she was actually a human named Secre Swallowtail, a servant of the first Wizard King who had used the magic stones to seal Zagred, the real mastermind of the elf massacre, and Lumiere to keep him alive as a statue. She followed Asta to keep tabs on his grimoire, which had belonged to Licht and would have been possessed by Zagred but was later taken over by a different devil. As Julius dies, the magical tattoo on his forehead disappears. His surname "Novachrono" is Latin for "new time" and the last spell he casts before dying is Chrono Anastasis, meaning "time resurrection" in Latin. And when fighting Patry, he proclaims that he will not die before he sees his dream of ending discrimination within the Clover Kingdom come true. His magical tattoo was used to link himself to his Time Magic, which he had sealed into a magic tool with the same marking that was previously seen. He uses his stored Time Magic to resurrect himself as a thirteen-year old. In Chapter 111, Noelle's mother Acier is mentioned to have been a powerful warrior whom Mereoleona herself could never defeat, which makes it odd that she died in childbirth despite her strength. By the time of Chapter 222, it turns out that she didn't die from childbirth but a fatal curse by the devil Megicula. It's mentioned many times how unusual that Yuno, an orphaned peasant from the Forsaken Realm, has such strong magic. And Charmy calls Yuno her "meal-saving prince" after he saves her food from falling. Although she gives him the nickname because of his dignified good looks, he is revealed to be the crown prince of the Spade Kingdom, which explains why he's such an innately powerful mage. Chapter 222 shows three playing cards in Dorothy's Glamour World: an ace of spades, three of diamonds, and six of hearts. The Magic Knights fight the Spade Kingdom in the following arc: Asta and the Black Bulls against Dante (ace of spades), Yuno and the Golden Dawn against Zenon, who invaded the Diamond Kingdom, and his two Dark Disciples (three of diamonds), and Noelle and the Magic Knights in the Heart Kingdom against Vanica and her five Dark Disciples (six of hearts). In Chapter 2, the silhouettes of different Black Bulls is seen, with most of them revealed shortly after Asta joins the squad and Henry introduced later on, but there is a long-haired, slim member. Chapter 140 features the shoes of the Black Bulls when Henry recalls how he survived thanks to them living in the mansion. The yet unseen boots of one member is seen. In Chapter 246, the boots are seen again being worn by a Black Bull who's a spy in the Spade Kingdom. He finally shows himself to Asta in Chapter 261, introducing himself as Nacht, the squad's Vice Captain. Chapter 205 has Nero standing in front of a lifeless Tetia's body, wondering what she should do and if there is anything she can do. As the elves' souls are exorcised in Chapter 213, two children with pointed ears are seen watching. These children are seen again in Chapter 265, which reveals that they're descendants of Licht and Tetia, who was still alive and healed by Nero as well as pregnant with a surviving twin. Their descendants went on to establish the elf village Elysia in a Strong Magic Region in the Heart Kingdom. In Chapter 207, Licht is seen using the powerful spell Sword Ultimate Magic: Demon-Dweller Sword - Conquering Aeon. Chapter 265 has Patry reveal Ultimate Magic to be the elves' esoteric art, and he offers to teach it to Noelle and the others to help them defeat the Spade Kingdom. Seeing Gauche get stabbed by Dante in Chapter 242 has Asta seemingly remember a memory of his bleeding mother calling him "my dear son" going berserk. Chapter 246 has the Anti-Magic Devil angrily proclaim "I'll kill you!" Chapter 268 reveals the memory was actually from the Anti-Magic Devil Liebe, who was adopted by Asta's biological mother Licita. She was killed by Lucifero, Dante's devil who tried to take over Liebe's body, and said those last words to him before sealing him in the five-leaf clover grimoire. In the fourth popularity poll in Chapter 263, Charlotte (who ranked in 3rd place in case you're wondering) is seen wearing a dress that is half red and blue, with red on the left and blue on the right. In Chapter 277, it's revealed that Charlotte studied the Heart Kingdom's rune technique, learning a new spell that creates a dress out of roses, with blue on the right and red on the left.

Furthermore, what anime did you watch at 5 kid because newsflash I have been watching anime and reading manga prior to One Piece which you were not even alive for if you are only 20. "Pokemon is my first anime." I bet is your first choice. Come back and tell me you heard of Black Clover even before the anime. Just a kid who thinks watching an anime after it releases means anything. Black Clover is good but nowhere near the level you children think. Just another Shonen like Naruto, M.H.A,, and those that prelude even those. Little kid acting like watching anime since the early 2000s gives you any say or authority. I don't think anti magic is just anather type of magic. In the manga is explained that Asta's demon was born without magic too and he was bullied so much that he developed his own thing, anti-magic. And when the grimoare chose his next owner Asta was able to use anti-magic because he didn't have any magic himself. If the grimoare chose someone other than Asta it's likely that the anti-mac demon would just cancel out the magic of the other person rendering it useless. Sorry if my english bad I'm still learning.

Honestly me to. I find it funny that BC itself is basically Asta of the shonen world. Looking back at episode 1. Yes it seems generic at first, but honestly later on everything in the story just lines up with each other perfectly and there's so many insane plot twists and where Asta's powers actually came from. Also l got hooked the very first episode. I mean how could you not? I think BC did a great job of it's storytelling since the very beginning. Also come on. The intro already should be enough. Wouldn't you want to know about the first wizard king who killed that demon? And became the strongest mage in the land?

I heard that the reason it feels like a copy so early on is because the creator (Yūki Tabata) had his previous works canceled due to not building up a fanbase fast enough (his previous work is called Hungry joker), it was a unique in terms of story unlike what jump had seen before. So in order to gain a fanbase as fast as possible and to succeed on the magazine his editor suggested that he jam it pack full of tropes.

u got me with the beginning....it has its rough start but honestly i find black clover's origins to be very interesting and alot of times depressing... from the author having to rely on cliche tropes due to his last series getting cancelled....the anime adaptation becoming weekly anime despite the director wanting it seasonal....rushed animations that were meant to be ambitious, etc. im very certain if black clover had the same benefits shows like boruto or mha had, it wouldve been much more praised

I've been around the block enough times to know that originality does mean shit if it's boring AF or inconsistent with its tonal continuity or thematic and literal narratives. Just finished the anime today, it was way more enjoyable than i expected it to be I should not have listened to the haters back in 2017, the show has so much heart Its such a basic simple battle shonen, but watching it genuienly made me happy Its a stressful period and I'm getting worked to the bone, but Asta's simplicity and positivity is inspiring, motivating, it makes me want to become a better person and not be so jaded and bitter about life
