I absolutely love the camera capturing from 00.45 - 01:17, everything from how it glides from the corner of the stage; moving closer to Leroy Hutson. But especially check out the synchronize step in/step out movements from the dancers (simply beautiful Black Gods/Goddess in motion), then a amusing scene where the girl with the scarf did not realize that she was on camera; when she used the scarf as if it was a cigarette that she was smoking....to be honest, music like this would have made anyone feel like they were on a natural high....I just had to share this magical moment, at least to me it was....this is when black folks were proud of who they were, all that natural hair, and the love filled the room....will we ever get that back? And btw, this is my first time ever hearing this song or seeing this Soul Train performance, I did not even know who this guy was, but WOW....so glad I found another masterpiece....Peace and Blessings

What in the world makes you think he isn't lip synching? Where is his band and back up singers? (IJS)
@grahamentwistle20817 жыл бұрын
I don't think he was lip syncing, but I know for a fact that the audio being played is identical to the album version of the song. In other words, we're watching the original performance, but are definitely not listening to the original audio from the performance

I remember watching Soul Train that day with him appearing on the show... This guy has been a round for a while back in the day. He was once part of Curtis Mayfield's group "The Impressions" after Curtis left and went solo. Then later he would leave the group and go solo as well... You know for some singers its hard trying to keep a solo career going... Meanwhile this guy is a singer, songwriter, arranger, producer, and instrumentalist... He has produced other artists and has been associated with many. In your spare time listen to "Can't stay away from you" by Leroy Hutson......Very Nice!
