My Dad was a guy like that. He always said if someone hurt one of us he would sh00t them and then smile in his mug shot. He was not just talking. He shot a guy who was trying to beat up on my sister. He didn't kill the guy but he stopped him and because we live in a state with the Castle Doctrine, he didn't spend any time in jail. My Dad was and still is my Hero. I also married a guy like this. I saw my husband beat the hell out of the guy who lived next door to us because the guy was beating up on his wife. I know everyone says vigilante justice is wrong but I beg to differ. When there is no longer any justice in your Judicial System because of corruption then it is time for vigilante justice.

My ex not only was abusive, but after I got out he continued to torment and mentally abuse me for 15 more years. Now it is my daughter's turn, he torments her by threatening to kill me until this day. I am now 73 years old. The police did nothing, and told me they couldn't until he killed me. I wish I had someone like Hardy in the day.

My thoughts if a man beats and abuses one woman and she gets away from him it won’t be long before he finds someone else to beat up. So while what the hero did sent himself to prison he not only saved the one woman but probably several others.

@kchez5586
@kchez5586 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, but this is a big misconception. The term "judge" for a firearm is a southern slang term. The gun he has in this video is a Smith & Wesson (640 maybe, hard to tell as it's only clearly seen for a second) - the cylinder of the Taurus is very large to accommodate the 3" .410 shot shell and easily identifiable, the cylinder of the gun in the video is a shorter .38/.357 calibur
@Prozak63

@K Chez Not sure on your S&W theory. It's on awful long cylinder on the piece he pulled. I'll have to capture a picture and get a good zoom on it. As a 60 year old southern boy I'm quite familiar with the slang term.

I recently discovered this song and am now obsessed with watching reactions to it. It's absolutely heartbreaking to scroll through the comments and see how many women, including myself, can relate to these lyrics and have prayed for someone like this guy to come rescue us! Because we all know the law doesn't do jack sh*t for us until it's too late! If you go into the song with the mindset that "everything happens for a reason", these lyrics make perfect sense. He was lost in a small town he'd never been to before during a thunderstorm at midnight and he comes across a woman in desperate need of a hero! I'm extremely biased whether he was right or wrong in his actions. However, if I had been his defense attorney I would have bent, twisted, manipulated and argued the justifiable homicide defense until it fit his "crime". Sometimes doing 'your' right thing (everyone's is different) and obeying the law are two completely different things!

As a DV survivor, I'm addicted to this song and he is an angel. I finally got out but never got any type of justice which I'm sure is part of the reason I'm addicted to this. The line "it was worth it..." always gets to me...I doubt anyone would agree with that. I was close to begging for this reaction! I have been surprised how many people don't know what a 12 is, what a "judge under the seat" or "wait in the truck" means. When the system, when society fails to protect those weakest among us it is left to rough men standing outside the rule of law to do what is necessary to preserve the peace, protect the innocent, and return civility. Some call this "vigilante justice" but for some the vigilante is the only hope to obtain justice.
@RogCBrand
@RogCBrand Жыл бұрын
I've said this about this video before- vigilantism can be very bad, since innocent people can be mistakenly harmed. But, even if Hardy's character had taken her away, then the guy would just end up abusing another woman/women. Even if the police were called in, there are plenty of stories where when they get out of jail they go and kill the woman! So, even though we really can't have people going around taking justice in their own hands, a situation like this feels like justice! The bad guy will never ever harm another woman! And I can't feel bad about someone like that being taken out!

I don’t think killing the jerk was his intention. The gun was just a precaution, then the jerk went for the 12 gauge shotgun and he didn’t have a choice but to defend himself… once the jerk had his hands on the shotgun, it doesn’t matter if aimed or not the spray pattern from the shotgun blast would have torn him in two. My opinion is justified self defense. Great reaction!

I've been waiting for your reaction to this and thank you for it! I'm a DV survivor and this song hits all of us survivors HARD. He would have been our knight in shining armor. I went to sheriff and lawyer, but the couldn't help because I was married to my abuser. If I took my son to protect us both, the law viewed that as abandonment of my property and kidnapping my son. So I wasn't protected by the law. That's so WRONG. But God heard my prayers and got us out. Thank you Hardy and Lainey for bringing such a hard subject forward.

The thing is, we never know what a person’s been through. I was waiting for this, and yes eagerly! Hardy has been a songwriter for a long time and only recently started performing on his own. If I'm remembering correctly he wrote God's Country that Blake Shelton sang. This is a powerful song! A Judge is a model of a handgun. I don't condone vigilante justice but I understand the thought process. I have family and friends who were abused in every manner possible, including my mom. Many times even after reporting it and filing charges justice isn't served and they are still in fear for their lives. The song gives a voice to this kind of tragedy. I believe that Hardy's character lost a loved one to domestic violence. He had never met her yet instantly decided her only chance was if the b*stard was dead. Great reaction! It's pretty much how I expected you would. 😉

He blends different genres into some of his songs and the transitions are incredible. He was an Avenging Angel. Avenging Angels were the first angels created by God. As a teen in the 70s I saw so many abused women and young girls. Where I grew up women belonged to the "man" of the house (Bible Belt USA). However, every once in a while one of those "men" would cross a line and then just take off. The rumors were that they were in hiding under some random septic tank. What do I know? I was just a kid.🤷

He told her to wait in the truck and, in the end, she drives off in his truck, symbolically still waiting in the truck for him. Im obsessed with reactions to this video, the comments and the reactors responses.

Great reaction to a very controversial song. Personally, I love it. I’ve watched many reactions to this song, and they vary widely. Some are shocked, some people are good with it, some are outraged, some very emotional as the song brings buried experiences back to the surface. It’s incredibly interesting to see how people react to this! Thanks for letting us take the ride with you.

In any powerful song, I always hear a line that’s even more powerful. The lyrics in this powerful song: 🎶And I might be here forever 🎶 It ain’t paradise that’s true 🎶 But it’s a whole hell of a lot better 🎶Than the place I sent him to

Shortly after this song came out my ex threw me into a wall and tried to choke me. Luckily I was able to get away and had my own 'judge' in my house. When the cops asked me why I brought it out (as he sat outside before he was released to a 3rd party and I was told to file a restraining order), I told them I would 100% be judged by 12 before being carried by 6.

Welcome to the South. I've seen most men get away with abuse...I was a victim..my 1st husband was the son of a cop. He beat up me and 2other wives and got away with it. So this to me is justice was served. My step father had to threaten to kill him to keep him away from me.

I have watched so many reaction videos of this song and it gets me every time. As someone who has been in that position, I made sure to take the worst of it to save my babies from it. I still suffer from PTSD to this day and the broken bones in my face that never healed are a constant reminder. We all need an angel to save us.

Just FYI. When she says, " ...judge under a seat." she is referring to a revolver made by Taurus that is a 45/410. The rounds are nearly twice as big around as an AR15 round which is a .223.

TAYLOR, GREETINGS FROM FAIRVIEW OREGON, A LITTLE PLACE ABOUT 15 MILES OUTSIDE OF PORTLAND [DON'T KNOW THE CONVERSION TO YOUR K'S]. MY SISTER TOLD ME ABOUT THIS SONG [BY THE WAY, HARDY CO WROTE BLAKE SHELTON'S "GOD'S COUNTRY]. EVER SINCE MY SISTER TURNED ME ON TO HARDY, I HAVE BEEN CHECKING REACTIONS AT LEAST 1O A DAY. ONE THING I FOUND OUT ABOUT MICHAEL HARDY IS THAT HIS MIDDLE NAME IS THE SAME AS HIS FEATURED ARTIST LAST NAME. A TIDBIT ON LAINEY IS SHE IS AN ACTRESS ON SEASON FIVE OF "YELLOWSTONE". I AM SLOWLY LISTENING TO MORE HARDY. SO FAR, I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER WELL WRITTEN STORY AND VIDEO CALLED, "A ROCK" [NO VIOLENCE BUT STILL MIGHT INITIATE THE GOOSEYS. HAS ANYONE NOTICED THE LOOK IN HARDY'S EYES WHEN HE FINDS THE GIRL ARE THE SAME AS WHEN CHILDREN ARE WITNESS TO THE ABUSE OR WORSE OUTCOME.
