I fell in love with Carrie Underwood the first time I saw her on American Idol. On the night of the final competition, I voted for her 500 times. And yes, as a matter of fact, I DID count my calls. Every time my call went through, I made a tic mark and hit redial, and the phones were open I believe two hours (or it could have been four hours on that final night) and I continued voting as long as the lines were open. Her career since AI has proven that my love for her is not misplaced. What a talent she has. She ain't hard to look at either!

This was the beginning of Carrie’s career and her first big hit. When asked if she had any doubts about choosing this as her first big release she said she never thought twice. Jesus was paramount in her life and continues to be in her family with husband, Mike Fisher(retired NHL player) and their two little boys. The songwriters, Hillary Lindsey and Brett James, became important friends and co-writers for many of her songs. “Something In The Water” is a glorious song and Carrie singing it live is better than the video. This was her first professional song that I heard played on the radio after American Idol. I didn't realize it was her until I heard the DJ announce her name. She was good in American Idol, but not that good! She did some major work between the competition, and actually starting her career. So many of these winning contestants just don't go anywhere with the notariety. I think it really boils down to having that hunger, and doing what it takes to keep the momentum. Carrie is one of those people who are willing to put in the work.

I like country music more than I did in the past because of artists like Carrie, where her faith comes through makes it more relatable to me. I was mentally trying to place 50 miles from Cincinnati as someone would be driving from Nashville. And I realized it would be just about the site of the horrific Carrollton bus crash in the 1980s. A church bus was hit by a drunk driver and burst into flames with a great loss of life. The writer probably didn’t realize it, but that gives it a different twist to me right now.

Ok, so for Darius Rucker, you need to do these 3 for SURE: "Comeback Song," "Alright," and "Don't Thing I Don't Think About It." Absolutely brilliant, as you Brits would say. And they absolutely are. Darius Rucker was the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish from the 90s, just in case you didn't know. So you could also do some of their hits like "Only Wanna Be with You," "Hold My Hand," and "Time." But the best all around song of Darius was "Let Her Cry." It's Hootie and the Blowfish but it features his stunning voice and lyrical prowess the best and is probably his most popular and well-known/most-loved song. Cheers!
