Squidge Rugby

Күн бұрын

The two teams who can't be separated. After an aggregate score of 64-64 in their two tests last year, New Zealand and South Africa fought out an impossibly tight draw on Saturday, setting the scene perfectly for a World Cup rematch. So how did the two teams tackle their pool opponents just 55 days from that game in Yokohama?

Incidentally according to Chasing the Sun, the short documentary on the interviews of the Boks leading up to the World Cup and then the WC Final, Rassie said of this game that he didnt want the players to be adventurous but rather play conservatively in order to keep a losing bonus point and hopefully winning the Rugby Championship. However, Jacques Nienaber said that the players preferred to ignore that decision by Erasmus and play the last play of the match which yielded the draw.

NZ was not clinical enough but their defence was better than it has been, very solid. On attack, it was 28 vs 11 defenders beaten, 16 vs 4 clean line breaks but 19 turnovers conceded vs 13 (3 of them potential scoring opportunities). Reduce the dropsies and convert more opportunities and they'll put a lot of pressure on most teams

@@fcv041 This is a world cup year and these problems need to be sorted out. I'd like to see Assistant Referees (touch judges) getting more involved and having more authority. As in NFL, there is no doubt, the officials get it right all the time.

As an Irish fan I'm starting to get seriously worried. Heart can't take any more quarter final disappointment!

I believe it was bestowed upon the young man's head by visiting Aliens from a distant planet called Alpha Mullettino Maximus. It is also very possible that Anal Probing was conducted on the young Kiwi!

We are famously known for not ever having a plan B, but this match you could see, we had a game plan, both A and B.

I wonder who gives a thumbs down to these videos. Does Israel Folau operate that many YT-accounts?

Your videos are amazing man. Love the analysis. I hate our Springbok wing defence, I feel as though it causes more problems than a standard man to man drifting defence
