So what you're saying is France won because they're really good at rugby. And Wales lost because they're really bad at rugby.

This is my second watch because the first time I immediately fell asleep (not related to the video just - life) it played through anyway and I magically woke up at the time I would have done had I stayed awake long enough to set an alarm. So I thought it deserved a second viewing. Thanks Squidge that was excellent.

I did not think this would be able to get a video - but my doubt was misplaced. Exceptionally good job breaking down such a one sided contest. The 7/10 Wales versus 7/10 France is so bang on.

Hello Mr Squidge. Please can you go and work for the WRU and be our attack coach. Or our anything coach? Gatland is being asked to make a mahogany piano out of ply wood shavings. It’s not the players’ fault, it’s the WRU. Please go and sort it all out. Thank you Mr Squidge Sir.

The answer is the coaching staff preach picking in form welsh regional players but include everyone but. The games a mess in Wales. Take away the cap rule or stick to it.

France are in a different stratosphere to Wales, Wales actually played well for them and lost without scoring a point, BUT not that it would have made a jot of difference, BUT France scored a blatant forward pass (3.meters) try and a blatant Knock on try in the 2nd half.. why were they awarded?? The ref (not that he needed to be) was terribly biased to an already massively dominant side. When you are at the bottom as Wales are you often get kicked in the gonads too.

We could have a good international back line with the lads not in camp; with Jarrod Evans 10 (ineligible-Quins), Joe Hawkins 12 (ineligible-Exeter), Max Llewelyn 13 (not picked), Feyi Waboso 11 (slipped thru to England, he speaks welsh ffs), LRZ 14 (NFL), and Cam Winnett 15 (not picked). Maybe I’m in dreamland but what could have been!! Granted we need a strong pack in front of these boys but they’d do well I’m sure

11:12 #196 Thank you so much for mentioning this. This is what I needed to encourage me to get back into rugby. I hadn't played since before I came out as a trans woman, but after seeing this I contacted a local IGR team who got me playing again to whatever degree I'm still allowed. The team there are so enthusiastic and encouraging of me being there and getting involved. It really means a lot to me to know that I'm not fighting absolutely everyone for my existence, and I'm not in this fight alone. Thank you 🏳⚧<3

For France's 3rd try, Reffell on his feet was held in the ruck by a French player on the floor off his feet. Is this legal?

A more open and counter attacking game will most probably benefit France and New Zealand the most and Fiji for that matter as it’s closer to their natural type of game.

Great french side with speed power strength in depth and DuPont. The gulf in quality is a joke, if you built 3 french teams and allowed them to choose any welsh player they wanted, Jac Morgan may get in the third team, the rest very unlikely. Wales are weak individually and terrible collectively. Nailed on for wooden spoon, very worrying that the younger age group welsh teams not looking good, wales could easily be the whipping boys for next 5 years
@ELLISRUGER820 сағат бұрын
They destroyed Wales because 10 years ago they were building a development structure that led to good results in the Under 20s World Cup and other competitions. Wales, on the other hand, was giving people with zero coaching experience responsibility in academies so they could have some small income after leaving professional rugby. While Wales was doing well they poured the gravy boat all over themselves and neglected the foundations of development and coaching. Wales lost so heavily because they do not have enough international quality players, you do not become an international standard player by playing internationals, you develop into an international quality player and get selected to play in internationals.

Great video as always. One thing I don't get is the obsession with size for 'go forward'. For one thing, it's surely more a question of dynamic power than size. How come Jac Morgan has the best carry stats despite not being the biggest? That's also why Joe Roberts is so good, or even more so Taulupe Faletau. It's not even just about size and speed, but also things like acceleration and balance and determination and being switched on and able to make small physical adjustments. And taking the ball at speed, which is a perennial issue for Wales. Another thing is that teams are organised and work hard to give the carrier a bit of an edge, they don't just send people up one against one or one against two as Wales often seem to.
@willrenwick21 сағат бұрын
I have a theory: our attack looked blunt as Gatland doesn't want to show off his hand to Italy. Wales are saving it for Rome. We're going to look like the Harlem Globetrotters. We're going to beat everyone in the world. We'll be the best team in history.

Great video for the start. I enjoyed to see some details that I've missed live. Considering that I would say that welsh defense was quite Ok, because french attacks were completely untraditionnal 😮! Scrum was ok two. It was a very balanced scrum battle. Maybe you could have talk a little bit more about that, because it's almost a surprise. Welsh attacks, as you underline, were so predictable, and repetetives. Like waves on a rock. For me THE weak area of the match for the team. Can't wait to see the Irl vs Eng video 🤩🤩. Long live to yoyr channel 🙏👍

Just find it so frustrating that we are still trying to play the old style rugby in attack, but not picking real ball carriers to get us over the gain line to get quick ball. Morgan Morris has not been picked because Gatland felt he had defensive vulnerabilities. We are a side that conceded 43 points and didnt score any. The whole teams got defensive vulnerabilities and we cant get over the gainline, so dont bring in Plumtree as the athletic 6 possibly 8, bring in the guy who is top/near top of most ball carrying stats in the URC and get behind him. Pretty much the same with Llywellyn at Centre, Tomkins has never really shown that he is Test quality with ball or without.
