The 560 is one of my favorite tractors. My neighbor growing up had a 460 LP and his brother had a 560 gas. I was impressed by both. Both had TA and flat top fenders. Cool!

Beautiful tractor, my family farmed for many years down here in Cambria county, always used red power, our flag ship was a 706 diesel, your farm videos bring back many fond memories of growing up milking cows, God bless you and your family

I love my 560, I love them so much I have two of them. I don't think it would be a good bucket tractor like you said. But I made hay with it, and pull with the other.

Hello before 1948my dad had a team of horse's in 1949 ?? He bought the first super A Farmall in area. He then bought a Farmall 100 with loader and ground driven manure spreader. Sold 1st Farmall A all of this machery was all we needed and did a fine job to boot.no need for those big tractors Cjd wash state p.s. thank you and 40 plus cows🤔

I'm the same way. If it don't get used, it needs to move on down the road. Sounds like it went to a good home. Take it easy man!

A tractor sitting in the shed doesn’t eat many oats but they definitely are not designed to just sit. Had two older tractors around here that got sold for the same reason. They were smaller and couldn’t do a whole lot. Bought a 464 diesel that could do more work by itself than both of those could put together. They also both needed work that I didn’t need or want to do and wasn’t gonna do so they went to town. Like you said, can’t hold on to everything. That applies for lots of things in life. It’ll all go somewhere one of these days.

In 1984 I bought my 560 diesel at a farm auction for $2300 (it had been recently overhauled) It was my main tractor on my small dairy farm.......cutting hay with NH489 haybine....baling with JD 24t baler......combininmg oats and barley with IH pull type pto combine.......picking corn with 2PR Int picker........plowing with 3-16 pull type plow However, I never ran it in winter ( Minnesota farm ) About 3 gallons per hour fuel when working it hard. Only money spent was on new tires. By the time I retired in 2007, I had a cracked head and cracked block and decided to salvage. 23 years of hard work for $2300........NOT BAD AT ALL. However, it had drawbacks besides it being the best tractor I ever owned. VERY HARD starting in temps below 40 degrees unless the tractor tank heater was plugged in was plugged in. As stated in video, I doubt it would have made a great loader tractor......(glad I had a different loader tractor) I always thought the brake system could have been better. But, it was the best, most reliable tractor I ever owned. However, I won't argue with the honest review given in the video.

Thanks, I did enjoy owning it, I probably could have used it more but I want to cut back on things I don’t really need.

I am sad!! I wish you would have let us on you tube know about it being for sale. Just because of your channel, I don't know what you got for it but, I would have given you five thousand for it, and picked it up. I'm a big fan of you ,and of Farmalls. Next time.....let us know....it would have been a pleasure of owning one of your tractors.

Sorry about that. I will have a Baler for sale shortly if you know anyone. Possibly the 986 if I find a replacement.

@@PAFarms the 560 was my favorite. I don't know of anyone looking for a baler. Except maybe WTFARMGIRL.
@sterff894 жыл бұрын
Do you plan on buying anything to replace it? It’s fun to have a few old ones to play with but they aren’t very practical. I have a Super A, H, 460 utility and a 574. It is a lot of work to keep them running but, that’s half the fun to me.
@PAFarms4 жыл бұрын
Probably not right away. If I find something with a cab I may upgrade and sell the 986 too. I did have fun working on it.

What year is your 460U? I’ve got one with a FEL and several Fast Hitch implements. Mine is a 1961. I like the old 460U very much.
@sterff894 жыл бұрын
Whipple 1 It’s a 1960, #7523 with the D236. I have a 311 plow for it too.
@Whipple14 жыл бұрын
Sterff89 That’s pretty cool. I’ve got the 311 plow, an 8 1/2’ FH disc, IH Carry All, a back blade and a FH post hole auger. I usually keep a 6’ box blade attached to it and will get it out to grade the farm lanes every spring. We don’t use the old 460U for tillage on the farm anymore but I enjoy having it around and tinkering with it now and again. It is still in original condition with just over 1,900 hours. Cheers! Whipple

Here's my question you said the 685 would be able to pull the baler unless the wagon was full so how come a smaller tractor like the 560 can pull it?

Does this tractor, have the re-done rear end, that, was a problem with these tractors, and, it helped to ruin IH, they had to recall them and fix them. To much power for the drivetrain.
@richardmaurer90023 жыл бұрын
The rear end didn’t need to be re-done if the S/N is high enough. Like late ‘61-ish
