Thank you for that fascinating history lesson about the various versions of bibles that have developed over 2 millennia.😊

I like how you quoted Romans 1:20 "20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God." Both nature and scripture reveal divine truths. Fundamentalist tend to take a hardline on scripture to protect its power, this has led to verses being taken too literal and the stripping the text it of its spiritual significance. Many progressive mainline denominations have fallen into a postmodern view of scripture, stripping the text of any authority. Both sides are equally dangerous. Many former fundamentalist end up deconstructing and grow resentful of the Church, the mainlines are empty of any truth so naturally people have exited in droves. The most successful groups I've seen take a firm stance on truth, yet are gracious towards individuals messy experiences. Just like Jesus did.
