SO MANY EXTRA WIRES! | Volvo Ambulance Wiring Tear Out

I had no idea there'd be so much extra wiring added to an emergency response vehicle - it's incredible...
It took ages to trace all the wiring looms and individual wires - figuring out where they went to and if they still served any purpose.
I got there in the end - and what a pile of wires!

I think the handbrake was connected to a run/stop system. The paramedic can initiate a switch which allows them to leave the engine running (to power any electrics/lights) and to remove the keys from the ignition. If someone jumps in and tries to steal the car, the engine would switch off when the handbrake was released.
