Your finishes came out so beautifully. I will say that I really like doing multiple crafty things. I'm a paper crafter, making a lot of cards. I love to sew. I'm a bag maker junkie. Just sewed my first Hemingway pouch. And I LOVE to stitch. This I think helps me to stay creative when I get into a funk about things...Thanks Jess for the inspiration and enabling!!! Stop being so hard on yourself!! Your latest Stitching mat is AMAZING!! Stitching rick-rack on ANYTHING without part of the background show is horribly difficult - you should see my first quilt I added rick-rack to the binding...but, it's MY quilt & I love it. I'm hoping to get better, have rick-rack to add to my next 3 quilts!!😂😂 Great idea to make sure your book rest fits in your stitching mat. I did the same thing when I made a sewing maching mat. Using your tools makes it work for you & isn't that why you made it!! As I'm watching you, Im working on a Lori Holt quilt, Shoofly Stars!

I sure can relate to your feeling of no motivation to stitch sometimes, so, like you, I love other creative endeavors that I will do until I again find my love of stitching again. We aren’t suppose to be motivated all the time. Take a break, do what you love and enjoy some reward from finishing other creative hobbies. You should have no guilt from that. Enjoy what you love when you can.

Hi. I've been in a stitching funk as well lately. Fortunately I also knit and I'm knitting myself a sweater. It helps to have an alternate hobby to fall back on. 😊 Every Opening Flower is on my list, and has got to be one of the most beautiful patterns I've ever seen. Yours is beautiful!

Have a fun weekend Jessica. I’ve been in a stitching slump also. I’m not wanting to stitch until I get things sorted. Ive collected so many charts and things the last few years and really want to focus on what Ive enjoyed lately. So many decisions to make. I have been buying too so with all the birthday starts or doing all the things with others i know has caused me to buy so much. Lisa’s birthday start is in my cart now lol. I got to meet her last month and her and Katie are actually ones I see so I must put that on my list. That Chantilly fabric is a hard one to find! I do want it to be a lighter looking fabric and need to get the flosses together. Maybe Victoria Clayton has the silks still although cotton would be nice too. I guess it’ll depend on what fabric I find. Happy stitching or making whatever you decide to do. 🪡

I am stitching the retreat piece for Beach Please while watching your video. I wasn’t going to stitch it as it really isn’t my style but I signed up for the flat fold class at the last minute and figured I’d need something to finish. Great video as usual! It was so interesting to hear you talk about linen colors. I just ordered 3 pieces of linen for patterns. 2 of them don't look like the patterns at all. I wondered if I should use the called for fabrics or switch them out to look more like the picture. I don't have an LNS so I have to purchase online. Have a great time in Clearwater! Beautiful area.

I feel like it is a personal preference if you want to switch them out. I have used the called for linen on many projects and the photo did look the same and it turned out great, I have also changed and it turned out great as well.

Just a suggestion but add your name and children's names to the sampler or a family member. Shelly from Antique Needleworkers suggested that on a video. I have started doing that so my Granddaughter has a connection to the sampler. I collect the art from my Grandma, a professional artist and believe me I love seeing her signature on every oil painting I find.
