Should I say You're Welcome or I'm sorry?? lol!
@zaviahopethomas-woundedsou98486 жыл бұрын
LOL... Welcome works, I'm never sorry for collecting seeds. My husband thinks I am a bit nuts until he says he wants some variety and I already have it or it has been sitting on my waiting list for six months. My box of seeds is much smaller than yours but I am working on it! We plan on purchasing five acres with a home on it, hopefully late spring. We have lots of repairs on our small house in town before it will sell. Thankfully we do not have a mortgage so it will be used to buy a tractor and a down payment. We are in our 50s so we need the machinery since our bodies are not working like they used to.

The other day, a friend at work brought in some seed packets to give away...some are a few years old, but have been kept dry and cool. I’m anxious to see if they germinate. If not, no loss, but if they do...yippee!!! I’m planning on starting some indoors and moving them to my new little greenhouse this winter.
@zaviahopethomas-woundedsou98486 жыл бұрын
Seeds stored cry and cool can last a very long time. MIGardener grew some tomatoes from 87 year old seeds! I think our government just wants to control stuff and that is why they must have a one year time frame they can be sold in. I hope they grow well for you!

Zavia Hope Thomas Thank you! I have enjoyed my garden so much this year, and am looking forward to an even better one next year. Building raised beds, planning on fencing them in with my small greenhouse, that I can’t wait to put together! I have learned so much by watching Jess and others. I’m hooked for sure!

Thank you for taking the time out of your Expo schedule to take us with you on your journey! I cannot tell you how helpful this was to an east-coast gardener - seeing the heirlooms I've only read about (almost) in-person was lovely. So grateful for what y'all do.

Thank you for taking us around and letting us get a good look at the Baker Creek Heirloom Expo. I really enjoyed getting to see so many of the heirloom varieties I have drooled over and wanted to grow for years. So many wonderful heirloom varieties and only so much gardening space and money, LOL!

I think this is a clear signal that I need to do everything in my power to make it there next year. Thank you for sharing this. It's nice to spend a little time with someone else who gets it, even if it's virtually. 💛

I lived in the great state of CA while raising my kids. The weather was great in S CA on the desert. It is wonderful that you got to go there and see the beauties of that state. You have taught me much and made me wish I was young again. Your videos will help my kids to grow better gardens. I especially like learning about your favorite varieties of produce so that others can know which ones worked the best.

Thank you for this. Although I've never been to an expo like this, visiting nurseries, farmer's markets even grocery stores has always been therapeutic for me. Looking, feeling, smelling the beautiful foods. I haven't felt that joy in a while because of the measures we're taking to reduce spread of the virus going around. I found that joy watching this video.

Glad to see those Black Nebula carrots. I grew them last year and was surprised they were dark all the way through-thought maybe I’d done something wrong as all the other purple carrots were orange on the inside. Not the best tasting carrots in my opinion but gorgeous! Beautiful bountiful tables of produce. So glad you got to go.

Can we get a full recording of that pianist at the beginning playing that wonderful music for the market? Would love to put that on loop, or get his name to see if he has any videos :) Also, being a judge for an expo like this must be so difficult, like just the amount of squashes is mind-boggling! Every grower put so much care, time, and love into their produce, all deserve to be recognized. Thank you for showcasing this awesome event, garden goals right here :D

I've got totes and buckets and bags of seeds. Ive told my family "I am over buying seeds. I need NOTHING next year". And then BAM! just like that i need that tomato there, and that one there, OH yes yes I NEED that squash/cucumber/bean/pumpkin/and so forth and so on, for sure!". You are a terrible influence. Im hoping for a better tomato year in 2019. We're about 5 hours west of you (SE Oklahoma) and while my peppers did amazing this year, my tomatoes were almost a complete failure. EEk!
