I rode with Juliet in her local hills of Dartmoor back in the summer, and said I would return the favour with a trip to my BELOVED Yorkshire Dales. But... didn't get off to the best start 😆

Fun fact about the Ribblehead Viaduct!...Every 6th Pillar along is 50% thicker than the rest. It was designed like this on purpose so that if any of the narrower ones collapse, the railway is still supported above!

Always love you two together. My derailleurs are still mechanical. My tires still get tubes (TPU) and my brakes are still clincher mechanical. I rarely ever have any issues and if I do, I can easily make an adjustment or repair and be back on the bike quickly. New isn't always turn out to be better and at least a half dozen times I've come across someone that has had a breakdown and no way to fix their issue on the side of the road.

Hawes really needs a Co-op! Whenever I ventured out that way the Spar closes at what 6pm I think!? I just end up at the Pizza place... but that's hardly a great spot for a camp resupply and Horton in Ribblesdale is equally annoyed. 12:19 - I wild camped on that hill at the Ribblehead Viaduct this Summer... don't bother unless you love midges!

A few months ago, I bought 1 liter of sealant and a pack of plugs. Then decided that I would instead put inner tubes in my tires. I prefer to spend some time changing a tire than having to deal with leaks and all the liquid everywhere. BTW, I got cheap Chinese TPU tubes, the weight is probably similar to the weight you get with the sealant you would put in tubeless tires.

This is the third video I've seen where Juliet's wireless group set didn't work. Ditch the wireless group sets - they are shite! That viaduct was stunning!

It's because she's doing something wrong with it or to it as i also use a electronic groupset over the past 12 years & can't fault it, Shimano Ultegra & my latest version the Bluetooth wireless 8150 & not one problem with it since i installed it 8 mths ago 👍🏾

I have to say that the road surfaces up there in the Dales are stunning. Very different (positively) to the wheel-destroying roads we have here in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

Yeah the Dales are stunning! The last time i saw that viaduct it was a bit more painful though! Doing the 3 Peaks CX! Will have to ride it next time at a more comfortable pace! 👍

Watching the fathing was surprisingly cheerful! I also love the Dales. Done plenty of wild back packing there. Wide open views, bleakness and solitude is great, along with choc box villages, nice stone houses. And nice people!

Something similar happened to my rear mech when I swapped bikes on the turbo. Take the back wheel out, move the mech all the way to the smallest cog and put the wheel back in. It worked on mine, might be worth a try.
