Pongal releases are a big deal in Tamil Nadu and even more so, when the biggest stars are sharing the same release date! #varisu and #thunivu have released on the same day and its #thalapathyvijay vs #ajithkumar at the theatres! What's sad however is that this is another case of big stars in hollow storylines! Can #tamil cinema change this trend. I hope you like the Varisu Movie Review & Thunivu Movie Review

Vivek is a legend yaar. Even now he can do it in movies like dharala prabhu . His comedies r always ahead of time that's y they r underarted. Regarding vadivelu, his plus is his teammates like singamuthu who used to wrote comedy scripts fr him. When singamuthu departed, his game is closed. I'm sure vadivelu vl not able to comeback without his teammates.

@@sravya7599 Vadivelu was still shining in his career.Even not only Vivek but Vadivelu, still provided some emotional moments with the lead actors. They weren't there only to make us laugh, but also even seeing their faces also can make viewers crying. For Vadivelu, Mersal and Madurey with Vijay and for Vivek, in Sivaji the Boss with Rajnikanth and in VIP with Dhanush, can still make viewers cry.Even if one felt truly emotional in those movies, it's because of the comedians and the main leads chemistry being right.

Nikhil , I'm not criticising their acting skill yaar. I'm talking about d comedy contents. Since vivek wrote his own dialogues along with cell murugan. It works all time. But regarding vadivelu , it's different it's a team work . Script writters who r d real person to be appreciated fr comedies . All left vadivelu . So now his comedies r not working out .

The biggest issue with the Tamil or even Indian cinema industry is people celebrating their favourite actors ON and OFF the screen. It is okay to celebrate your heroes off screen, but on screen you should be celebrating the Story, direction, character portrayal. The worrying sign is even the talented directors are following this short cut by making shitty movies with famous actors who have a good market. They know if they tap into the "fans market", they can recover the money they put in. If Ajith or Vijay walks in slow-motion with badass BGM, their fans might feel elated, but people who are watching these movies from Odissa, Northeast India or even Bangladesh might not feel the same. In fact for a movie to become a PAN India movie or to get a global reach the good story and acting is enough, which is missing from these big actor's movies.

The better thing with Varisu when compared to Beast is that Varisu shows what has been promised in trailer, the same family drama and not to expect more from this, whereas people were misguided by Beast trailer that was branded literally as Action-packed but it was made with intention oly to satisfy the little kids and family audiences as well (again & again). The same happens with AK movies as well but with an exception with Thunivu that the plot is super strong but was executed to satisfy oly general audiences and not the pure genre lovers.

That’s disappointing seeing vijay, ajit, parbhas and even cheeranjevi choosing such mediocre and lacklustre scripts. Mamoothy, rakshit shetty and suriya are the three names who chooses the best scripts when it comes to south cinema. Everyone should learn from them how to take risks as their star power can give new ideas and writers a chance to shine

One thing that they definitely changed in Varisu was their action scene. Usually the leading actor would be badly beaten up by the goons to the point the he cannot even walk and lays almost still on the ground but then suddenly rebounds with more energy and fights back, defeating the same goons who hit him before. This stereotypical fight element was not found in the fight/action scenes of Varisu. Yet they we entertaining and gained whistles and claps from the audience. I think by even making such small changes, they film becomes more logical and believable, and at the same is entertaining with mass moments

And I can assure you with absolute certainty that PATHAAN will have a hackneyed, everyday plot and that you will love it and refer to it as a mass done right film. I don't mind if you describe Vijay and Ajith movies as being very ordinary since they really are these days. But you describe every conventional Bollywood movie as an impressive film whereas in reality it merely even reach the threshold of being called a good film. And that's when, as a film enthusiast, you lost that naivety and sincerity. Supporting Bollywood is not immoral, but as a creator, it is terrible to favour even its subpar work. Jimmy don't change, Be honest to your work. No hate just a suggestion, hope you consider this comment as constructive and be true to yourself and movies across the industries. Edit : Jimmy is unbiased and most genuine compared to others, but that shift in recent times can be discerned. No hate to him just been observing this in his tweets and videos.

A LONG RANT!! I'm someone who's not against these big stars doing "Fan-service" movies. The stars have the right to choose a project with just the star presence, over the top mass moments, 0 Logic, and all sorts of physics lawbreaking action sequences. And since they have a mammoth fan base, subsequently it makes these stars get huge pay check, and it is how it functions. BUT, it all affects the reputation of Indian cinema when it comes to the international market. Since these stars have a huge fan base, it gets released around the world, and even for midnight shows in foreign cities with huge Indian population. As it releases overseas, they are released as a big " Indian film " and not as a Ajith or vijay or Salman khan film. The film gets hyped in these foreign cities, which makes even te foreigners to go watch these Indian movies in theaters. I'm a TN Indian, living in Germany, and I went to watch Varisu in theatre with my German cousin and some of his friends. My cousin and I knew what we were going to watch, but his friends wanted to watch the movie coz of all the hype it had on the eve of the release. Oh boy, it was a laugh riot from them for all those exaggerated fight sequences, that silly Board of directors meeting comedy scene, 0 Logic movie . Once the film got over, they started asking me if this is how all Indian films are, and it hurt me bad. We Indians know that there are Art films, Star films, Commercial art films, commercial star films with good script/screenplay, etc. But, when just the Star films are released overseas on a huge number of screens with big marketing and publicity, the mediocrity of these films overshadows/hides all the 70% of good Indian films we release every year. I could have recommended some good Indian films to my cousin's friends that night, proving that we have taste and standards in film art. But, I can't do that everytime a 0 Logic, over the top star film releases outside India. I'm not saying the stars shouldn't do fan service films. The revenue these kinda films make help the industry and helps the producers in making other good films. But, as these stars represent Indian cinema in a global stage, these kinda films keeps preserving the stereotype that all Indian films have no Logic and only over the top action sequences. It is high time for them to release quality films which helps in removing this prejudice about Indian films from the common global movie consumer.

But as long as Dhanush surprises us with a ‘Asuran’ and’karnan’, Vijay sethupathi jolts us with a ‘Super Deluxe’ and Keerthy Suresh turns the template with a ‘Saani Kayidham’ , I m thankful.

Because directors are focusing more on how to please the big stars fans like having a fast based song( take for ranjithame, arabic kutthu for Vijay.Other than the songs the movies Beast and Varisu don't have anything else.) Story has taken a backseat and the real good content does not exist because the makers need to please the fans and make money. It is getting worse every year. Huge lavish sets, item songs, heroine only to romance hero, overly sentimental mom, dad, big family, huge houses, foreign locales, artificial plots they have become so common in movies. Whereas good content movies if taken without star value are struggling to reach audience. 80's and 90's had the best stories coming out with both commercial and good content stuff.

Hi Anmol, please watch the 2011 Venkat Prabhu directed, "Mankatha". One of Ajith Kumar's best mass market movies. The kind of character he potrays there is quite similar but way way more carefree and performing than Thunivu. Also, please make a video on the same as well if you can.

I think sadly this is a standard outcome for most commercial films where fans will enjoy in fleeting moments in theatres, no one will remember the movie in the later years but the investors would be satisfied with their profits. It is a bonus if everything in the movie is perfect as per the hype generated before their release.

Is this a review? 🤷🏻‍♂️ U r not even talk about the main plot of Thunivu which is financial crime which is very much needed for the current society...the movie crew tried to expose the dark side of banking sector and we people here in tamilnadu celebrating the movie for their gutsy attempt...but u were never mentioned anything about that ... As ur channel follower Totally disappointed man ...
