I have a 2003 VTX 1800 Retro Spoke attention, and I have totally customized it but I blacked mine out and put a custom paint job on it. I built a fearing with a GPS Bluetooth system and 6×9 speakers in it, I just got back from Tampa bay yesterday on it. I live as far northwest Georgia as possible right on the Tennessee State line, and this is the fourth VTX 1800 that I have owned in the last two years. I have a custom Motorcycle shop in Chattanooga Tennessee, and the best bike that I have ever had is the Honda VTX 1800, and I have a Harley Davidsons road glide special, a night train. I also have few Victory Motorcycles such as a vision and kingpin, and a couple of Suzuki intruders as well as BMW k1200 Lt, Kawasaki voyager and a couple Yamaha Warrior XV 1700s and two Road Star XV 1700s. I have one bike that isn't for sale, it's My 1999 BMW K1100lt. Out of all of those I chose to ride a Honda VTX 1800, because I love the power and handling but the main reason is that they are so reliable. I have a little over 56,000 miles, on the one that I just got through building and I'd be willing to bet it will go over 150.000. As long as you keep doing regular maintenance on it, especially oil changes every 3500 miles is how I do all my Bikes. The only bike that I have ever owned that is close to being as reliable, is my 1999 BMW K-1100LT that has 199,000 miles on it wich is why it was in a motorcycle museum for a couple of years. When it shut down they give it back to me, it was the first bike that I did an official iron butt and bun burner on. The iron butt is 1000 miles in 24 hours or less, than the bun burner is 1500 miles in less than 36 hours. I used to ride more than that when I was in a MC, but that's been over 30 years ago. Great video thanks for sharing.

great to hear from you and thanks for watching! I've had a road star 1600 as well and it's not even in the same ballpark as the VTX. And I know what you're talking about with the BMW reliability. For one summer I bought a K750 for a road trip (PA to NC, nothing crazy) and those are solid bikes. I often think about getting another VTX one day for a keeper, but like you it would be more blacked-out instead of so much chrome. thanks again for reaching out and keep the shiny side up.

HAHAHA, it's funny how you look like the type of person that would be rockin an Armani double breasted suit everyday and arguing legal matters in your state capitol supreme court. Who would ever guess that you have an amazing knowledge of motorcycles and the tools used to do any job that needs doing. Like the saying goes, never judge a book by the cover. Your vtx1800 is without a doubt the most beautiful version of the vtx1800 I've seen. Clearly you don't mess around when it comes to knowing how to do anything mechanical. Great video and presentation. You are a man of many talents including quite professional audio and video talent. Really have enjoyed watching the vtx1800 come back from a forgotten bike to the beautiful chromed out monster it's meant to be. I'm sure that bike runs and rips as well as it looks. Looking forward to seeing what is next for the vtx1800 and you. Thanks for letting us see the resurrection of one of the baddest bikes on the road no matter what the year model is out there. Rock on great channel. Hope you are not offended by the daily suit wearing crack, just a silly observation, hahaha!!!!!

haha I appreciate the kind words and the friendly joke! I thought about the same thing before, especially because I do have a "professional" job and moonlight as a motorcycle builder on the weekends haha. I already miss the vtx, it was an amazing bike! Thanks again for watching!
