This video is such a play on Stand By Me the movie, that I can almost see Home Free as the grown ups from those characters, just better socially adjusted. Loved your reaction.

Love this one! This is such a fun original song & the video is really cute. I like that they have child actors portraying themselves as kids. And they made up a fictional story of how they all came together. It is very well done.

I've often said that they didn't use a child actor for Rob. They "borrowed" the Back to the Future DeLorean from Doc Brown and Marty McFly, went back in time and brought Rob up to play himself.

This is such a fun song and I LOVE the video...so cute. I agree with you DJ, Chris was CRIMINALLY underutilised...his voice is so good and so rich...need to get some more Chris Rupp songs in front of you...that's what I'll be voting for on the polls from now on... Thank you DJ for this reaction! Absolutely loved it...I hope you continue to recover from being sick

I think Chris suffered from the baritone curse. Baritones tend to not get the lead in vocal groups, for whatever reason. His solo stuff is great. I've heard through the grapevine that he didn't push for more leads. He just wanted the group to succeed.

He did a lot of behind the scenes stuff, like writing, producing, etc. His voice is beautiful, as are all the others’ voices. He actually got his brother, Adam, to join him to start the group!

Tim was the one who was wishy washy about joining full time. Austin wanted in when they met him. Think that's what was portrayed in the clip.

I agree about Chris being underutilized. One thing I especially liked about "Do You Hear What I Hear" was that you actually got to hear Chris. I like to think Adam had something to do with it.

Even though they were a bit older (college, rather than high school), Chris (and by default, Adam...lol) did put a group together to compete in a talent show, although at their church, not at school! 😉👍 I love the kid that played Rob! They outdid themselves when they cast him. Wonder what he looks like now that he's in his 20s???

The Robster Bisque had me laughing. In college I was part of a quartet (usually bass or bari) and one of the songs we did was a pared down version of BYU Vocal Point "Nearer My God to Thee" and someone forgot to add the bass part. So...we were "Without a Bass Clef" for a few shows.

I respect what you said at 7;45. But in truth. Chris was under utlized by his own choice. His passion is arranging and producing. So while his appearance in the video was minimal. He was (in his words) Having a blast working behind the scenes

If memory serves Tim wrote this one. With the exception of Chance's "Skull and Bones" all of the original Home Free songs of the past decade where either written or written with co-authors by Tim or Austin. In the live videos of their Crazy Life tour Chris Rupp sings lead on "A Little Bit of Everything" : kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3-QZYJrfd6ZpKMsi=rWF_01aosdaEaCIu

Tim wrote a great song, I love the child actors, they said they had nothing to do with casting them, the video team did. And I totally agree with you about Chris Rupp, he is an amazing singer, I don't understand either why they didn't let him lead more. E is one of my favorite singers. Nothing against home free but I'm glad Chris went solo, we needed to hear this man's gorgeous voice

Austin had a year without much of a lead, with song after song where he might just as well have phoned it in from the carpark. You can't come to any conclusions as to who was "favoured" for leads I know you worship Chris, but you overlook the fact that in the early years Chris was doing all the arrangements. If he had wanted to sing leads, he could have done. The band always claimed that leads are shared out democratically - if the lead is not obvious, they make a demo with all the possible leads and then vote. No-one was dictating who should sing leads, so you need not suspect a conspiracy against Chris. And can we be honest - Chris has a lovely voice, but up against the other guys' very distinctive and powerful voices, he got a bit lost. Chance has a distinctive voice (you can always pick it out) which can blend beautifully or be featured, with the added bonus of being a bass baritone with almost a tenor higher register. Love the video, one of my favourites. No surprise that it was released in 2016 but with Chris - he left halfway through the year and MVs take some time to drop, depending when the single is released. The original video on YT has a comment from the boy playing Chris, saying what a great experience it was to be part of an MV, and how they had even allowed his girlfriend to be part of it, appearing in the background. It would be great to see a From the Vault BTS for this one, to see how they got such perfect performances from the boys.
