Hahaha Phil. Putting off mowing to the last minute. My wife and I found time a few days ago between the rain to mow. If both of us are out there, it takes us between 2 1/2 to 3 hours. It’s 48 degrees here in Sedalia. Yesterday, the weather app was calling for snow on Monday and Tuesday, but this morning, they changed it to rain. So that should be a good time to burn a couple brush piles. Be safe and don’t work to hard.

Reference the motion sensors you mentioned about installing in the new building. I’ve found that bugs, spiders,, moths, birds, and even heat changes set motion devices off. I recommend window and door contact alarms only. Put contact devices on an interior door also. It’s known as a trap alarm. Motion devices are notorious for false alarms. I enjoy your channel. Thanks for videos.

Watching you pile up the slabs that you are taking off to square the log reminds me of something. I worked at a pipe mill and all the 3"x4"x8' boards that we used to rack the pipe would twist eventually. Since we were heating with wood and I could have all these twisted boards I found a easy way to cut them into firewood length. I drove four T-posts in the ground about 6" apart one way and about 3.5' apart the other way. Then I could stack the boards about 5' high between the T-posts and cut thru 5' of boards at a time. I would go to the other side to cut a set while my wife got the others out of the way. Last cut was done centered between the T-posts, this worked out to cut these pretty fast. Might be an idea for cutting all those reject pieces quickly. Again, Thank You for another Great video.

On the saw mill I suggest you add a solenoid valve and a windshield washer pump to the lube water tank. Use the 12VDC from the engine and place a small switch on the lever you use to engage the blade. You'll never again have to open and close the the tank valve over and over, and you'll always have lube flowing when needed. One step further you could add a sensor and an idiot light to the tank for when it gets low. For what its worth...

Good morning all! Low 50’s here and some showers in NC, not supposed to get much warmer. Forecast lows in 40’s and highs about 70 F the next 3 days, all dry. Not too shabby. Your compromise on getting the most lumber out of a log seems pretty good. Your last, thicker, piece could make a decent 2x4 to 2x6 or so after the edges get trimmed. I’ve wondered if a couple of clamps could be used with another board under your last piece to raise it up. You could clamp in middle and far end, cut 1/3, move the first clamp to the near end, cut to about 3/4, then move the far clamp to the middle and finish. Definitely a 2-person job, and maybe not worth it if you have a good use for the thicker piece. But if a log plans out to an exact multiple of 7/8”, you could get 2 more boards that way.

Hi Mike, I'm #35 hose commentor, haha. I will scan other comments your right most that I saw were about the hose. Good that you squared Melissa away with the compactor, she's a lot of help. Do you think your tractor and a bucket full of dirt can do a better job of compaction ? I'm looking forward to see the building work. Is there going to be a ceiling, over the office, laundry, or make some kind of small loft over there. I'm liking the whole thing

38 seconds after the video posted, there was 13 views and 20 likes. Gotta love it. When we get rain here in Missouri, I like it when it’s a light rain all day than a down pour. Gives the ground time to soak it up. Our house is on the side of a hill, so when it downpours, we have like a river through our front yard. The ground around the barn is looking good.

Good Day folks! Two quick quieries for you: (1 ) Since you have been during quite a bit of compacting would a heavily weighted tractor pulled roller amplify your efforts and (2) I Have looked all under my desk, out in my yard, and in the trash cans, but failed to find a "#1094" laying around anywhere. Did you go straight to #1095 and commit a "sin of omission" just a way to confuse this OCD viewer. Your presentations are and have always been quite informative and entertaining. Due to your thoughtful numbering system, I have been able to list them all, with a few exceptions. I do thankew for something you enjoy doing. God bless. - - - Guy / 13 May '21

Milwaukee makes a very affordable battery vacuum. I own the M12 and M18. The M12 stays in my work truck.
