Thanks Brock for deeper insight into this process. My Z900 has the K&N filter, Akrapovic stainless pipes, SC Project slip on, Dynojet PC V & Autotune, and your HD clutch springs. Same end product, more powerful, smoother, lighter, better sounding. Don't have a dyno so absolute numbers is anybody's guess. Hey Brock! I've now come back to this video 3-4 times just to reprocess and dive deeper on your expertise in order to get the most out of my own 2021 z900 :) Thanks for such an awesome exhaust, and spending your time detailing your thoughts and process. I'd like to pose a question you may find interesting. Do you think the z900 would benefit from an airbox mod? Perhaps a larger intake opening, more holes? I know the sprint filter didn't get as much gain as it does on super sports- but would a mod like some have suggested (Ivan's Performance) for the z900rs, which involved drilling 8 7/8th inch holes on parts of the airbox, would let the engine take in more air? The z900rs seems to get a solid 5 hp just from this. Would do z900 gain some as well? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
@BrockDavidson2 жыл бұрын
@Balaji Rajan - it's possible you would see gains, but not necessarily by "increasing flow". The amount of air introduced into your inlets is simple math.... meaning, is there enough area (in sq.inches) in your airbox opening(s) to feed the area of your inlet(s) AKA: worst case 1 inlet, as engines breath one cylinder at a time, to best case, the combined area of all 4 inlets. In most cases, there is ample area to fill the cylinders on modern sportbikes and ram air helps makes smaller inlets act like they have more area. The problem with some bikes is that the inlets are positioned directly above the engine (due mainly to cut cost by removing ram air and it's associated components--or simply for aesthetics.) which forces them to inhale hot air off of the top of the engine. Please Note: For every 10 degree's F your inlet temp rises, there is a 2%-3% reduction in power. This means that if the new additional holes still allow the air filter to do it's job, it's possible to force cooler fresher air into the inlets as a result of the positioning of the holes. Before ram air, some crafty tuners would run ducts from the front of the bike back to the airbox inlets. Hope this helps - BD

128 hp and about 74 ft-lb. Very noyce! The engine was sublimely smooth from factory as it was, I'm betting that only got more balanced and smoothed. In the old days, it really helped the inline-4 engines to vacuum balance carburetors according to the need of each cylinder. What sort of balancing exists these days between throttle bodies? Is there a long or short answer?

@@scottevens6274 my buddy is waiting on a new front sprocket cover and a clutch lever from kawasaki for a 2011 ninja 1000. For about 9-10 months now. Thats just rediculous.

A lot of good info here lol im from columbus is this in ohio?
How much do you charge to do some dyno pulls? I tend to look at your dyno as the standard.

Very sorry, we no longer do any type of service or dyno work for the public. Please see this for more info: blog.brocksperformance.com/ufaqs/do-i-need-to-physically-bring-my-bike-to-brocks-performance-in-ohio-for-a-performance-tune/ and you can search for a Brock's Performance dealer with a dyno near you here: blog.brocksperformance.com/dealer-locator/ (click the dyno service checkbox at the top left of the map)

Can U tell me what will happen when the bike is going along the highway from 0 to 150 mph with air being forced thru the air intake system compared to the bike sitting still on a dyno machine ? Won't all the settings and data be different with colder air and more being forced thru the bikes system ? Will U need to remap or retune everything again ? Love to know results differences on road vs on a dyno for actual gains or performances ??? Pls !!! Also in my country the same Z900 2019 model I have had to run on our 98 octane petrol. We have better gas in Australia. Would our gains be bigger with higher RON fuel at 98 ?

We don't offer those units in our store, as a result, we would have no maps for them.

Sir where is that 226.9 mph H2 now?
@BrockDavidson3 жыл бұрын
That was a stock "magazine bike" we borrowed from KMC in Irvine, CA. It was put back to stock and returned to them the week after the race. We offer 100% of the parts to go this fast on our site. A Stock 2 Brock Package ( bit.ly/33utAWA ), a set of BST wheels (bit.ly/3capV3k ) a sprocket change and some MR12 will get any H2 to perform this way.

9/10 bikes make more power off 89 octane gas vs 93? How? Why do manufactures reccomend 93 octane then?
@BrockDavidson3 жыл бұрын
To cover their asses. More octane = more insurance against engine failure if you come across a batch of bad gas or run your bike WOT for an hour...neither happen in the real world and they don't care if it costs you more $ at the pump to help them prevent a warranty repair.
