I agree about the spooky toys look. Someone needs to bring these vintage style covers back! Also stepbacks. Maybe Grady Hendrix will generate enough interest in it. I've mostly only read V.C. Andrews for vintage horror and a few others but I'd love to find more. 10:54 To shreds you say?

Hey Cameron, how are you? I was just reminiscing about 1990, It movie. You remember the funny part of the library scene when Pennywise showed up to Richie and asked him if he wanted a balloon, but one didn't seem enough, so It made many balloons start falling from the ceiling. To be honest, one balloon is not enough for me, I need a thousand LOL. Have a scary day.

Tiger Beat was (is?) a magazine devoted to photos and news of boy singers and actors (think young Bieber), full of pullout posters and pinups. My sister got it and Teen Beat magazine in the 1970s/early 1980s. I guess they got into the horror craze, too, with that book you found.

Another great video and great book haul! Lots of awesome-looking covers! I'm sorry you feel ill after filming for a while! I have been doing KZbin videos and some live streams for years. I do feel worn out afterwards. Not sick but just worn out. The editing also wore me out because I used to obsessively cover all my cuts, which takes forever. Now, I've just been leaving the cuts in and uncovered lately because I see a lot of others doing that. But because of editing taking so many hours, I stopped doing so many edited videos and concentrate on live streams more often instead. It could be your light too. Looking at a harsh or bright light for a long period of time can disorient you, especially if you're looking directly at it or if it is the wrong hue. Apparently light hue is important and can affect how someone feels. Thanks for making your videos even though they make you feel bad! I have really been enjoying them. Lots of spooky goodness. Take care!

Hey Cameron. Ramsey is brilliant, though I know some people who can't get into his work because his writing is very strange and unique, so be prepared for that. Ironically, though, Darkest Part of the Woods is the only book of his that I *haven't* read, the reason being that I was gearing up to read it when his publisher asked me if I'd write the introduction to his following novel, The Overnight, and so I ended up reading an ARC of that one instead and then never got round to going back and reading the previous book (although I do have it on my shelves). If I was being honest, though, I'd recommend reading his short stories first to get a flavour of his writing before diving into a novel. A great collection of his is Dark Companions, so if you can get a cheap copy of that I'd recommend going for it. By the way, do you still have my list of 'Wants' that I sent to you a year or two ago? If so, have you spotted any of the books on it while you've been out and about? I appreciate, though, that most bookstores have been closed for most of the last year, so I'm guessing not.

Hey Mark!! Thanks so much for the feedback, I’ll definitely try to start with his short fiction first. And yes, I still have all your books and I’m thinking I’ll go ahead and send you what I have. I know we were waiting for me to find more, but I haven’t been finding much from your list at stores. Most of my shopping has been online or trades with friends. I tend to get adrenaline rushes after filming videos, so I’m the exact opposite. However, I teach all day and have the same feeling of fatigue and tiredness at the end of the day that many of the commenters are saying. Some mentioned presentation fatigue which is definitely a thing since you are focusing your energy on a giant task. I always drink lots of water and take brain breaks by watching a video on KZbin or a tv show to rest my brain after doing something that causes extreme bouts of fatigue. Napping is good, too, but I know not everyone has time for those (I usually don’t except for the weekends).

I am not a booktuber, but I used to be a partnered streamer (for games), and for a variety of reasons, I would feel the same way towards the middle/end of my stream. I do have ME and POTS (both illnesses that make you feel all sorts of things with periods of sitting and standing and engaging!). Also, if socializing can be something amps up any anxiety or overwhelming feelings for you, it can certainly make your body start shooting out all sorts of stress hormones (whether for positive or negative reasons), and give you adrenaline surges and more. Socializing is actually a very high energy-consuming activity- more than most may think! All of these can lead to dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and flu-like symptoms! Another thing that affects those is blue lights! I don’t need glasses to see day to day, but I often wear prescription glasses with filters on them for light sensitivity issues and they have help remarkably. They just leave a little tint on the lenses and soften the world around you! I could see you rocking those! I’m not sure if any of this helps, but lol... that’s just my own experience!

YUP! I call it "presentation fatigue" I get it when I do videos (especially multiple videos) or if I'm on really long zoom meetings where I have to talk about a project in depth or fight for a timeline to be met. I think it's partly because of the concentration and wanting to make sure you nail all of the points you want to get across.... and a bit because even though you probably don't realize it, it has an element of anxiety to it......and the lighting doesn't help (we don't blink enough when presenting). After I"m done, I'm always super exhausted, a bit nauseous and need to have a meal, lots to drink and a bubble bath after removing my makeup and then can't do much for the rest of the evening...so it's almost like an adrenaline crash. I don't think it's uncommon. Also it's a whole other layer when you're an introvert like we are!!

I broke into Ramsey Campbell through his short stories, specifically "Alone With the Horrors", a collection that covers a big swath of his output through the decades. I tend to read short story collections first, if possible, with writers I am reading for the first time. I find I get more of a sense of them and their styles that way, instead of jumping into a novel and realizing 150 pages in that I'm just not digging it. However, with Robert McCammon I've only read "They Thirst" which was fun but also kind of predictable.

Hey Cameron, do you have a public email? I’m going to go through my books over the next few months and if I need to get rid of any, I figured I’d give you first shot. Regarding Ramsey Campbell - nice guy, but his writing is dense. He creates an atmosphere like no one else but it’s not light reading. I haven’t read that particular book but his novel “Ancient Images” was accessible. “Stinger” was the first Robert McCammon book I read and I think it’s a great book. A lot of fun. Overall McCammon reminds me of a less vulgar Stephen King - still adult but not as in love with profanity.
