Stanley Clarke! A BASS player. One of the very best. And the boy can SLAP! And George Duke - virtuoso keyboardist. These two had individual careers, worked together for years, and worked with countless other artists in studio and on tours. I saw them together in Columbus Ohio in 1974. Also on this tour with them were Chick Corea and Al DiMeola.

George Duke producer, writer and other ventures in the jazz industry. Passed away 10 years ago. His wife passed away about five years prior. They were married for a long time he’s been collaborations such as Stephanie Mills, Chaka Khan, Kenny Loggins and so on. Stanley Clark was playing the guitar and had a successful career. Collaborate with many people in the music industry. Stanley, and George, were best friends and worked on many projects dated back in the 1970’s.

Slight correction. George's wife passed away from a long battle with cancer on July 2012 and George passed away in August 2013 - a year apart. They had been married for over 40 years.

Duke and Clark, one of my favorite playlist. Stanley Clarke is the reason I still play Bass guitar at 68 years old. He is one of the greatest Bass players ever. He along with George Duke have collaborated on several Albums while both have individual success as solo artist. Jazz Fusion, Funk, R & B, and classical these two have done it all. I'm fairly new to the channel and would like to see more Jazz artist represented. Duke allowed a young teenage (with her mom permission) Sheila E. Tour with his band back in the day. I really enjoy you both reactions to such classic music.

Absolutely love this Song. Stanley Clarke and George Duke. Sweet Baby is Timeless and full of true soulfulness. Thank you Rob Squad for playing this ( daddy was very elective with music he taught us, we are so grateful and open to all Genre of music) George Clarke is on Piano, Lead vocals and wrote this beautiful song, he sadly passed about 10 years ago. Stanley Clark on bass and background vocals just makes this song Timeless. This reminds me of parents who had the best relationship loved to dance to this song… We all found our our best friends in our spouses, thanks to my mom and dad. God rest their souls, until we are together again. Thank you both again.🙏❤️🎶🥰🙏 Jay and Amber, bless you both and your family 🙏💕🙏

Great choice/reaction! I'd forgotten what a beautiful song this was! George Duke was that dude - he was a singer,, songwriter and producer for several major R&B and pop stars and was a prominent staple in the jazz and smooth jazz community as well as in R&B. So you have probably come acrosd some of his work. Sadly he's only won 2 Grammys. Stanley Clarke was a killer bassist and also a staple in the jazz community and has won several Grammys. I wish they had done more collaborations together bc that was a great album (my sister constantly played it). Fun fact - famed drummer/singer Sheila E was a member of George Duke's band in the late 70s (and also performed with other major artists) before Prince wrote, produced and played several instruments on her solo album (you should check out her video The Glamorous Life).

These are two musical legends! They both are Jazz Fusion guys. George Duke switches from fusion to "Funk". Stanley Clarke's fusion mixes (jazz, rock, funk, everything!). And also, Stanley composed the movie "score" for (I think, "Boyz N The Hood"). Lastly, if you grew learning to play Bass guitar in the 70s & 80s, then you knew that Stanley Clarke was (and still is) a bass GOD!!! Known for his "blistering speed" fingers & expert "slap bass" technique! Of the two, George had more "commercial" success, Stanley had some when he collaborated like on this song. This song was these two Jazz guys attempting to get some "R&B/Pop" crossover success.......and it worked! This was a big Pop hit for them! (George Duke: RIP).

Two of the most talented musicians/producers around, jazz artists who got all over the map musically. George is no longer with us, but Stanley is still soldiering on. That's George singing and playing piano. Stanley Clarke can get sounds from basses that they aren't supposed to make. You'd love their solo stuff too: check out George's "No Rhyme No Reason" or "Shine On." Also Stanley's collaborations with Howard Hewett "Heaven Sent" (a top 40 hit, on Stanley's album) and "I'm for Real" (on Howard's album). George Duke also produced "Lets Hear It For the Boy" for Deneice Williams. Oh, and Stanley sings too: a rare ballad, "You/Me Together."

George Duke is my all-time favorite individual performer. I have everything he ever put out. Watch his live performances from jazz festivals and you'll see a guy having a blast with his exceptional talent.

Guyd i just discovered your led Zeppelin reactions this morning. And watched all of them back to back! You two are almost spot on and it's so nice to see you appreciate what they did. Now, we must have more zepp! You haven't even touched on a quarter of their songs. And id say 70 out of 85 ish songs are fire. May i suggest live versions. Before that's where they really showed out. The concert you did with stairway to heaven is amazing on every song. Royal Albert Hall in 70' was also great. More raw and young voice. Other than those, songs to check next are in my time of dying, the light, the rover, tea for two, i can't quit you baby ( from coda or live), the lemon song, Achilles last student.. i could go on and on.

If you guys hear George Duke do "Reach for It", you'll never believe it is the same guy. Serious Stank Funk.
