Worth reiterating how significant So Solid getting to Number 1 was with 21 seconds. Its coming back into fashion now but the cultural context needs to be emphasised

Getting 21 seconds to number 1 before streams were a thing (so people were actually flooding stores in person to buy CDs) and in an era where British "urban" music still wasn't seen as hugely commercially viable (bear in mind, they were competing with hugely popular pop artists like Britney Spears at her peak) was absolutely massive. They paved the way for the success Skepta, Stormzy, Dave etc. etc. are seeing now.
