as a person who speedruns True Arenas & had just completed a Hi-Jump run in RtDL DX's True Arena: Hi-Jump ALWAYS deserves to be clowned on literally every other ability can do its niches better also COOL KIRBY FACT: the way Metal General's health display works is that it takes the actual damage done by an attack, multiplies it by 10, then adds or subtracts a number from 0 to 3. so when Metal General displayed 71 damage taken (while armored in the rocket ride), the actual damage done was *7* in actuality. cool ability

One tip for Egg Catcher 3 is to keep your mouth open and be prepared to let go when you sense a bomb about to touch you. Also, it should be noted that ALL Level 3 games start with the pattern of 3 eggs, and then 4 bombs, followed by I think 3-5 eggs. Just keep practicing and you'll surely see the number 30 soon enough.

He probably has a hate campaign about Hi-Jump because it's essentially useless FOR A CHARACTER THAT CAN FLY INDEFINITELY. And I think the games where Kirby does have a limit on how much he can fly, Hi-Jump isn't in it. The only ones I'm aware of like that are Kirby 64 and Forgotten Land, though, so I might be wrong. And, as Failboat shows here, even when they try to make it so you have to use it... you don't have to use it.

y'know what's even weirder? in Adventure & ESPECIALLY Nightmare in Dream Land, the ability actually had some of the best damage in the entire game, but didn't actually do anything in levels but here in RtDL, it's the opposite, where they made specific puzzles for Hi-Jump (that Mecha apparently can just do as well), but the damage output is the worst in the entire game don't ask me about Squeak Squad Hi-Jump I forgot it was in that game for a long time

Counterpoint, you have to go out of your way to get Mecha and even if it’s not as strong, you can still make use of it in a fight if you want to and it’s in its most versatile form here so it’s not really that bad

If it still did a lot of damage, then it'd be 'impractical but awesome', but with the amount of damage it does, it's just 'impractical'.

Actually the Hi-Jump ability is very useful. It is the highest damage dealing invulnerability attack in the game, allows for some of the fastest vertical movement (before the mech) and deals more damage to bosses because of multiple damage frames.
