I think it looks promising, considering they're bringing back the skin tones, but my issue is that there's a lack of variety of gendered clothing or expression like back in the original 3 seasons. We exist in 2023, techna and Musa with their original less traditional wear and appearance would not be strange for kids and would be welcome to older fans

There is no character growth, everything glitters, none of the monsters look monsterious, their transformations are just a change of clothes without even gaining something extra like armor or partly transforming in tbeir elements so there is no reason why they gain 50 transformations that only amounts to changing clothes while their base forms have access to their transformed powers. The show is not meant for girls who are comfortable in showing that they can be confodent, kick-ass and feminine while loving so called boyish things like football and kickboxing for example. Then you also have to take in account where the show originated from(italy), who made the show(iginio straffi, a man and italy is known to still conform to sexist stereotype regarding gender), and who markets the show(rainbow s.p.a) towards what audience(here in the netherland winx is on nickelodeon toons which is mostly targeted towards babies, toddlers, and early childhood under the adeloscent stage) and the values of the areas accomplied by those factors including the time when it first started and how much the values of the people in charge envision their product. It's a princess wonderland filled with faries hiding behind the outdated sexist thought that boyish girls cant be strong in their own way without comforming to the feminine stereotype that all girls have to act a certain way and even when they dont they growout of it instead of being true to themselves how they are. Girls can be strong regardless if their boyish or feminine and conforming to the standards of what is expected instead of staying true to who you are is like losing the part what made you strong and unique in your own way, which is a shame :'( The show isnt made for you, it's made to sell glitter dresses to young kids who dont think beyond wanting to be a pretty princess and/or fairy while enforcing outdated sexist stereotypes about girls and how they should only care about things that are girlish and shouldnt eben try to be somewhat boyish by liking rough sports like rugby or creepy crawlers like spiders and centipedes :/

Agreed! I'm not sure if that direction will be possible with this format unfortunately. The best I think we could hope for with this reboot is something similar to Ever After High. But that actually had some pretty mature storytelling at times, even if it was set in high school.

I'm just a little surprised that Winx is reluctant to go back to the mature storytelling and older looking characters when that's what they originally had and it was a huge success. It's not like they're treading untested waters or something. The failure only came when they started aiming for a way younger demographic.

Stella's outfit was always iconic with the Shorts because it made her stand out from Bloom, Musa & Flora who all have Skirts and having the Girly Girl wear Shorts is unique and very fun imo, So having them switched ruins the looks for me... I just hope that instead of Diaspro becoming an obstacle in Bloom's love life she eventually becomes friends in this reboot. To be fair Sky was lying to Bloom about being Brandon and keeping a secret that he was engaged, which lead her to attack Diaspro mistaking her for one of the Trix. Even after he told Diaspro that he wasn't in love with her she became an obsessive love-struck princess who wants revenge on Bloom for 'stealing' Sky despite Bloom also being a victim of Sky's lies. I am proud that Sky owned up to his mistakes but the writers making Bloom hate Diaspro for no reason and vice versa is not an appealing plot. I watched a review about Diaspro being a victim and it got me thinking about this. But I was hoping that in the reboot the girls would be in different body types and height

honestly, I do not care if Diaspro would be friends or not with Bloom, but I do would love for her to take revenge on Sky. Like, she had been training to become a princess, HIS princess. She was prepared for it and then all her efforts went down the drain? I would love for her to be like: Nah, I will be a queen, whether it is by marrying a prince, or by my own rebellion. Like, Sky is not prepaired to become a King at all. He never even showed intrest. But Stella and Layla are. Even the Eraclyion monarchy does not seem very competent. So having Diaspro first be seen as a villain, but then understood to be a hero, knowing the people and knowing what is good for the country, that would be epic. I would love to see that. Her being friends with Bloom is a nice idea, but I think it should not be a season 1 thing. Like, in time they will come to like each other, maybe first befriending Flora (like Season 2) and then slowly growing to like Bloom as they start to see eye-to-eye. Idk, I feel like Diaspro is such a cool character, she has motivations to be good and evil and is justified in both. She has a snobby side, but also a lot of ambition! Which, I love to see! I would love hight differences in the girls as well! Like imagine Diaspro being so tall and impressive, looking at a smaller Bloom to really drive home the difference in status. I would love to see some guys that are shorter than the girls as well.

Though, I also don't mind her being a villain and would prefer her to join up with the Trix perhaps or be a more consistent thorn for more than just Sky. I'm kind of sick of villains being made into the friend characters in reboots. Toralei's flanderization with gen3 of Monster High really soured me.

Y'know I'm sure Rainbow is aware that we all love and praise the first three (and usually even fourth) seasons. Instead of rebooting those seasons they really should've opted for rebooting seasons 5 and onwards, especially S6-7. Considering Nickelodeon is somewhat silent now they could really do the initial plot they had in store for S5 (Roxy being active and Winx being able to choose between fairy forms). The designs themselves look promising. Their skin tones are normal again and they made the perfect combination for most of the girls, especially Musa. I'll forever hate Tecna's pigtails, you can't change my mind. Not sure how these'll look in CGI but I pray its not the one we had in S5-6. What worries me the most is the episode format. I understand they'll be able to do more that way but since they'll be much more limited its got chances at being half-assed.

Yeah, I'd be satisfied with just a dub going over everything they want to keep canon. Last time I looked there wasn't an English dub that actually dubbed every season. Like, give an actual redub of the first few, a remake of wherever they want, and make it consistent with eachother.

I enjoyed Musa's character development and I thought her starting out as a bit more on the boyish side, only to wind up getting more in touch with her feminine side as the series progressed was an interesting move. The same thing happened with Aisha and I think that's part of the reason they became so close.

Also I want to see Latino influence on Flora's planet like they did with Musa's planet being Chinese. Happy to see Aisha and Flora looking more like themselves again. Not sure yet if I like Tecna's hairstyle. I think Flora's skirt is being held up with a belt and the waistband is sagging. With the transformations it's almost like Bloom and Stella switched outfits. I actually think season 8's art style looked nice, but it just totally didn't have that iconic Winx look. I'm hoping they'll manage to recapture some of that style this time. Until we get a trailer though, there's not really much to do but hope for the best.

Honestly, I'm mostly worried and also just partly resigned at this point. I have been hoping for a more mature reboot or spin-off for years now and every move Rainbow has made indicates that this is probably never going to happen. I'll watch the reviews, but I probably won't watch the show anymore unless there are some truly surprising news. Seeing these designs feels good. Winx took an abominable turn after season 4. All I'm asking for is outfits and transformations as season 1-3, villains as amazing as Valtor and Trix season 1, and real issues like the planet Melodie or Tecna's planet. And I love the fact that Stella is a bit more tanned. Seeing her white while she literally living on a planet where the sun is eternal- yikes- My inner child is feeling full of joy at the announcement of this reboot. • I think Aisha’s top looks like a layered top opposed to one top with strange cutouts. Look at the lining of the blue shirt, see how it’s a darker blue underneath? And then the bottom cutout is that same colour? I think it’s something like that. Not that that is necessarily better, but I think it makes more sense. I personally think Bloom wouldn’t wear jewellery, and if she had to, it would be like a necklace or a bangle. • I think that Techna’s outfit was interesting, to say the least. I do think that Techna has four braids and you just can’t see the fourth based on the direction her head is tilted. I haven’t decided if I think the style suits her, however, I can’t deny that it is cute. I think that they didn’t try very hard with Techna’s outfit. And I don’t mean that they didn’t care, I mean that I don’t think Techna herself would try very hard with her outfit. If you notice, they also did very natural/light makeup. Also the necklace looks to me like white pearls. The top and the joggers aren’t my favourite, however, I do think that it’s very casual and very Techna. I really hope that they go with sneakers and not heels for her everyday wear. **fingers crossed** • Let me start off by saying that Musa is wearing something that is my exact style, so my opinion may be a little bit biased.😅 I think Musa’s outfit is adorable and suits her very well. I love that they went with high pony’s and no clips or headbands. I like the subtle hint that the jacket is a different colour than the jeans. I also like the way the top looks. I do think that It’s a little busy up there, but Musa’s style has always been busy. (Or at least from what I remember) I really hope that Musa’s transformation is very heavily inspired by her original transformation and her enchantix. Because those are my personal favourites of hers. • Last but not least we have Flora. I don’t really have much to say about Flora other than her outfits are perfect for her and are totally her style. However I think that that is going to very heavily depend on how they wrote her personality. Because there have been seasons where I thought Flora acted so out of character it was un-enjoyable. So based on her outfit and transformation I’m really excited about her character. I have always been a Bloom fan, but Flora and Musa tied in a close second for me. So those three are the characters I hope were written very close to the canon of the original. • My final note is that I hope Bloom is less annoying. Even though she was my favourite, I thought she was kind of annoyingly overpowered. (And just kind of annoying in general) I want to see more of the other girls being in the spotlight. Especially since the other girls are supposed to be more experienced than her. Bloom is made very clear to be powerful, but she doesn’t have the same experience as the other girls have with using magic. By the looks it's pretty promising The skin tones are fixed They finnaly gave tecna longer hair *I don't think her current hairstyle could be braided it's too short* The 3d animation doesn't look wonky like how s5 3d looked (to be honest it can't be as bad as season 7 and 8 I don't think 😭) The only thing I realised I don't like is musa looks just like the other girls nothing that separates her (she has Asian inheritance so I wouldve wanted her to look a bit separate then the others other then being the palest)

I don't think we should worry about the short episodes too much because if they want to do a more fleshed out episode occasionally, they can always take the full 26 minute run and do a part one and part two of the same episode. Monster High just rebooted and they are doing exactly that, and it actually works really well. We have some narratively meaningful episodes that are 22 minutes long, just split in two halves.

Also the trix are getting their own spin off so the trix might take place in the og universe and ingino is also planning to relaunch Winx back into the English speaking market.

My hope is that they introduce new antagonists instead of recycling The Trix, or at least third-party villains , such as anti-magic fanatics or an alien invasion, or even a magical crime syndicate. 1:37 my personal problem with season 8 is the way the villains absolutely werent a treath at all they had valtor and screwed it up.. how how cheesy the music and band stuff was, it was just cringy honestly, musa can do soo much better then that the art i could live with, but somethings just didnt work. some outfits were something stella would never wear, let alone make. the good was how they handled riven and musa's relation. i liked how he actually tried, and how musa held him off until he actualy proved himself, that was sorely needed

Honestly I really hope they bring Daphne back and make her outfits more detailed and grand, while not floating too far away from the original design. I feel like she was definitely a vital character and removing her made the show feel like there was a missing piece, and in season 7 her voice actor didn't really deliver. I also really hope that the voice actors don't sound too different to the original voice actors so it doesn't feel too foreign.

Iginio told in an interview that season 9 would be released in 2024. He also revealed to a fan, on Instagram, that the trailer should come in 9 months. It's taking so long because of the 3D, so it better be good. Season 8 was decent, but it still had a lot of flaws. It was better than the three previous seasons, at least. You're not missing much on Fate, it's just a basic Netflix show. I'm glad it got canceled. I just don't think Winx Club needs a live-action. It works better as an animated show. I hope they scrapped the 13 minutes episode thing. It's an information that came very early. A writer of Winx (Fransesco) told that they didn't even start production in 2021. As that information is older than his statement, I'm really hoping it was scrapped. I'm not a fan of this format, it's too short. In my opinion, it only works for show that are based purely on comedy. I mostly agree with you on their casual outfits. I really like Stella and Aisha. I like Bloom's too, but I'm not a fan of her jewelry. I'm mixed on Flora's outfit and hairstyle. I'm not into Tecna's outfit/hairstyle at all. I just don't think it goes with her personality. I'm glad Aisha and Flora got their skin tone back. It shouldn't have disappeared in the first place. They have no excuse. Even for WoW because there are characters with black skin tone in the show! A Different art style shouldn't be a reason to erase characters skin tone. The first image of the transformation is the most recent one. The second is the first look we had for season 9 with their casual outfit. Love all of their transformation outfits except for the bags. My favorite is Flora and Stella, but I still really like Bloom's. It reminds me of the earlier transformations, and I'm here for it. To reassure everyone, Iginio already told that season 9 would have the same target demographic as the older seasons of Winx Club. It was said multiples times. I think they finally realized that it's the older seasons that made the success of the show. They are mostly targeting the older fans now with their new merch and even Instagram. They are also promoting the Trix a lot, that's why I'm not too worried about the villains. I hope to eventually see Valtor too, I just want them to develop their stories better. I'm worried about the 3D because it never looked that good in Winx. I'm not a fan of 3D in general. I don't know why everything has to be in 3D. I don't want the music to take over. I don't want to see a music video, I'm here for the story. Im not a fan of the Winx band and I never will. I won't watch it if it turns out to be a parody. Which I don't think will happen giving what was said in interviews. It seems like it's going to follow a storyline. What I want the most is a good and cohesive story. Less plot holes, better character development and a backstory for the characters (even the side characters). Overall, I'm quite excited about the reboot, but I also have my doubts since the content we got the past few years weren't that good (except for WoW and season 8, that were decent). Hopefully, they learned from their mistakes, otherwise, there's no hope left for Winx.

As a Winx fan I was happy that finally a Winx life-action show was made, I was disappointed with some issues but yet I love it and it's not that bad if you watch it as if it was a show on it's own. (I really liked dark fantasy winx) I heard there will be a Winx movie so I hope that's good too and it represents our seven Winx (including Roxy, they do need an animal fairy in their group) As for season 8 of Winx club I did give it a try saw the first two episodes but I was not a fan of it considering they're supposedly 23 I guess but they look 13. But I have my hopes up for the movie and reboot!!

I mean the the people who designed outfits and stuff for the first seasons, almost all of them have been fired/quit and the original creator of winx club isn't as involved anymore so it's not surprising that everything has been super disappointing, fans fell in love with the more mature look of winx and now they've made it more childish because they said they thought it would appeal more to children and they also said that they know and see our concerns about the now childish look but as I said they think that it will appeal more to children, which I don't think is right at all since we as children fell in love with the magical concept that had a more teenage and mature twist to it, and also it would benefit them more if they made something that older fans actually like since there are a lot of older fans who would watch it if only winx was like the old days again

Two things i really want them to fix is fashion. Winx Club attracted me to their style being the early 2000s and YK2. I hope they don't make a disappointment like season 8...they were probably the worst outfits out of the whole series. Another thing is the race...aisha and flora both being POC (black and latina i think ?) Had their skin colors lightened alot. I wasn't happy at all with that since they're both including musa are different when it comes to ethnicity.
