Sony couldn't even be bothered to upgrade the processor, meaning whatever graphical upgrade they're touting is bottlenecked by the 5 year old CPU. Hence the memes about how nothing has changed and the average 3-5 FPS increase in games (looking at you BG3).

It is an enthusiast console, so I know it's not for everyone. The base PS5 is fine as is. My TV has all the features the Pro supports, 120fps, VRR, etc., so I bought the Pro. If I didn't have the TV for it I'd never buy the Pro. I was able to sell my original PS5 for $450 to put toward the Pro so to me it's worth it.

Not sure if your TV is an OLED 4K, but I hope you get a chance of gaming on a proper OLED 4K screen, that will blow you away to the point that you wont be able to return to a regular LCD screen. And a console like the PS5 or now the PS5 Pro paired with that type of screen will take you to a gaming level absurdly high

If you want to play games at 4K a console is not what you should be using. Only a dedicated gaming PC can provide a decent experience at 4K, let alone 8K like Sony seems to think is a good marketing point for a console that struggles to hit 30 FPS.

If you were a graphics and performance addict and you had to have the best quality to squeeze out for a game to really immersive yourself in the game’s world, especially for games like final fantasy 7 rebirth. Then maybe, I would say it’s worth it, but I’m still peeved that there’s no disc drive and no stand. And even besides that I’m just fine playing the games how they are on the base version. My PS5 works wonders still and I’m not giving up on that system anytime soon.

The biggest upgrade is FFVI, but it's only worth as an upgrade for current PS5 users or enthusiasts. For most people the base PS5 is enough.

It's worth it simply because is more cheaper than a PC for what it does, to gain the same performance on a PC you'll need to add a scalling system similar to what the PS5 Pro has and those in PC are expensive as hell, don't believe me? then check the new GPU's with a re-scaling system from NVIDIA. Lets remember that any company ends up losing money with each console they launch and Sony is not the sception, PC is not the case, you pay the real price of the products. Imagine if the consoles end launching with its real price, nobody will buy them because obviously the PC's will end better in the performance/cost instance compared to consoles and people will end buying them instead.

I've been on PC for a LONG time, not about the visuals but the freedom of doing whatever I want. Yes, it's not for everyone, but I prefer that over being told what Daddy Sony wants me to do, I HATE companies, I hate being told how to play my games. But the worst part is definitely, You Got it for Free! So of course you'd have nice things to say, not all the time, thankfully, in fact, you did mention how NOT MUCH of an "Upgrade" it is compared to base PS5. I might be or just certainly biased there, my PS5 was so boring when I got it, my PC gave me everything I needed whether legit or, you-know-how. 🏴‍☠ The fact is, this console cost, in an economic crisis mind you, way WAAAY more than it's worth. Since you mention your love for the brand, it feels more like Fanboyism than actual criticism. Oh and BTW, FF7 Rebirth WILL come to PC, and GoW Ragnarok is way better at actual 120FPS, same thing with 2018. But hey, being biased here, I freaking love PC.

If you're unable to play games that don't look their best: yes. But if you're a gamer who just respects and loves all games and isn't so easily bought? No offense to those who are, but the PS5 Pro is very obviously a cash grab.

As always, this question is not asked in a vacuum. Is the PS5 Pro good? Sure. It is the strongest console right now. Although it's EXTREMELY anti-consumer to sell the disk tray and stand separately. But overall, sure, it's a great console. But the actual question is: Is it worth the price being asked for it? This thing is going for almost 1000€ MSRP if you include the disk tray and given that Sony doesn't give a single shit about their consumers getting ripped off by scalpers and happily sells the entire stock to a few individuals, you can easily pay double or triple the MSRP right now. And is the PS5 Pro worth THAT? And the answer to that is a clear no. Even at MSRP it's not worth it. Sure the games look a tiny bit nicer on the PS5 Pr. But just keep in mind: For the same price as a PS5 Pro you can buy a PS5 AND a Nintendo Switch. And the PS5 even comes with a disk tray. Or you could buy a pretty good PC for that kinda money and play not only about 90% of all games on the PS5, but also on the Xbox and a ton of games not on either, while also not having to pay monthly to play online. So sure, if you get the PS5 Pro for free, awesome. If you can get it in a massive sale that makes it cost almost the same as the regular PS5? Go for it! But pay almost three times the price of a standard PS5 just for a slight graphics or FPS upgrade? Nah.
