Yay Pereira seems much more calm than Cali, just how I remember it from when i visited a few years ago. Still a bit of trouble going on in Cali at the moment looking at Caracol news, cars being trashed etc. Think you left Cali at just the right time. Hopefully things will improve there soon.

Caracol it's giving half info bro, don't trust them at all. It's harder and it takes more time and effort but try to get informated through social media, instagram, twitter etc..

My parents are from Bogota and Armenia, Colombia. I really hope I visit pereira this summer. It looks not only fun but definitely you can see a difference from the vibe in Cali and Pereira. Even with everything going on, pereira is still living life and everything seems calmer.

marshall the difference in prices its because locations ... the first place you went sells what it is called by colombians as a corrientaso that should not be more than 8000 pesos ,, the second place it is more like a la carta menu ,,, which it is more expensive...you can also try a place called delight ...they do have amazing food for a great price you can buy half of portions and they are huge . good luck

Hola Marshall, el precio de las comidas pueden variar de acuerdo a la zona del restaurante, si es muy reconocido o si es comida muy especializada, pero los dos precios que pagaste son lo común, un plato de 6500 podría ser el costo en un restaurante de barrio, sin mucho lujo, normalmente pequeño, si encuentras algo muy por debajo de ese precio, sería muy dudosa la calidad de la comida, y el de 15000, 20000 o 30000 son los que llamamos platos a la carta, suelen ser mas grandes, con un servicio mejorado además de estar en zonas mas reconocidas, tambien puede ser que vayas a restaurantes mas lujosos donde un plato puede costar 50000 o un poco mas, pero esos ya son muy finos. Disfruta Pereira, es una ciudad muy bonita y su gente muy cálida.

Wow! Your vid brought back a lot of memories. I roamed those streets as a child when I would visit my family most Summers. We would walk from Calle 28 and "La cuarta" to downtown (Plaza de Bolivar). That region of Colombia, El Eje Cafetero, offers so much to do. Thankfully, it's still a hidden gem. Make sure you don't miss Termales de Santa Rosa, or Salento. But, those are just the tip of the iceberg. Do you have roots in Colombia?

It just so happens that you are in Colombia at such a bad time with Covid restrictions in effect and the current political climate. It's not a typical situation. Hopefully, you can still enjoy it. Marshall you have to go to Lucerna and Sazón Costeño to try delicious food! Pereira is really calm and people just protest peacefully. If you go out of the center of the city, you will notice a lot of traffic jams caused by gas stations (we’re out of gas)

Yeah that place was full caro for basic food. I have noticed the same thing in Colombia sometimes...you can often go down the street and pay like 1/3 the price for the same thing. Guess they charge for the ambiance. Are you able to go out freely or does it have to do with the cedula numbers? I was under the impression that pico y cedula was still going or it is that based on the city?

Recent orders in Antioquia mention that restaurants and hotels are not included in pico y placa. Smaller shops usually do not enforce it either. Not sure about Pereira Risaralda. I have wanted to go there, but all of the toque de queda has dissuaded me.

Probably because they can't pronounce it correctly. The mar part is hard because they struggle with the hard r sound we make in english and the sh sound in Latin speakers comes out as ch so they just laugh because it's so difficult
