Had the onboards of Max, Leclerc and Lando on... Watching Lando be stuck right behind Ocon for like 4-5 laps was painful. It was like watching someone get stuck behind a tractor on a country road [he ended up using DRS to get past which I don't think they wanted to do so they could keep data consistent - either that or they were testing the car in dirty air]

for Red Bull and RB, there are already regulations in place to keep from RB copying the car completely. So that’s not really an issue in my opinion. Anything they do to replicate the designs of Red Bull couldn’t be different than McLaren or Aston Martin doing the same. However, in terms of staff, bc they’re the same company, staff can jump from Red Bull to RB and vice versa without gardening leave which I think is def unfair. They should probably put an adjustment to prevent companies that own multiple teams from switching staff so easily.

We had the same talk around VCARB right now with Alpha Tauri in 2020/21, when it was a end of the midfield, but sometimes really good qualifying car. Ultimately, unless there is solid, hard evidence that something is being done illegally, I trust VCARB and Red Bull to be following all of the rules, because there are serious repercussions for breaking these rules, and it's not worth it. Until we hear of hard evidence that aero data or wind tunnel data is being shared, or CAD designs and CFD tests, then I'm fine with it. Speculate all you want, that doesn't suddenly make a team guilty of the accusations, if FIA continuously does checks, and finds nothing, then you're just flapping your gums without meaning behind it Zak. It is FP1 and FP2, so I am reserving my expectations, but I am hopeful that Ric Bobby is at his best, which is all I want to see. We shall see though, but if this is a true representative session, and this is the grid after quali, and is kind of like this in the race, we could be in for a great year, BUT, let's wait and see.

Might be a mistake, but I made sure to put Danny Ric into my fantasy teams lol. Highly unlikely theyre THAT quick, but I feel like its a decent indication of the fact that theyll be a points getter. And for that price, pretty good deal to have a driver in the points. I know Danny has some high stakes, but if the cars capable of consistent points, I think Yuki is the real driver under pressure. If theyve given him a car capable of points, he better start getting points and be competitive with Ricci.

People forget the laptimes which were set in testing before the track was rubbered in...Max was around 1:30 on mediums and Carlos did a 1:29. RedBull are focusing on race pace adn Checo also mentioned he was using fp2 to experiment setups. So there's more to come.

What's funny to me about the VCARB and RB relationship is that in 2019 when TR announced the name change to AT they made so much fuzz about "becoming more independent and no longer RB sister/ daughter team". And last year they said, "Yeah, screw that noise. Let's have a super close relationship with RB". This situation is exactly what I not feared but dreaded. How can FIA or Liberty Media ensure that everything shared between VCARB and RB is legally done when they are owned by the same people. One thing I wish F1 would do is separate engine manufacturers from the rest of the "F1 team". But this leads to exactly the same situation- how can it be ensured that Merc engine department engineers don't share too much information with the aero-team? If this could be done, it would make it so much better. Two budget caps can be established: one for the "aero-team" and one for "engine-team". Each team would have to "buy" the engines, and Merc, Ferrari, Apline, RB can't complain that they have to spend money on engine development while McLaren, AM, Sauber, Williams, Haas, VCARB don't have to do that.

Yeah I'm 100 percent confident in saying this season is already decided. Red Bull haven't turned up their engines yet, and regardless, they've always built their car to be good on its tyres and have outstanding race pace. Which we also saw when doing the race runs as Max was consistently lapping over a second quicker than Lewis near the end of the session (with the engine turned down!). This sport won't be enjoyable to watch again until the FIA target Red Bull with some rules changes, the exact same way they targeted Merc in 2020-2021 with the floor changes.

I think the sport has evolved for the better and one entity owning two teams when there are owners with major car companies trying to get on the grid is ridiculous. Red Bull can sell the RB make a massive massive profit for the owner group and the sport will be better off or expand the grid to twelve teams max if there are major ownership groups with car companies trying to get on the grid.

Mercedes look good in single lap pace, Red Bull seemed to struggle in that aspect. However, in race pace Red Bull were much better & Mercedes looked strong. Lewis was testing & was stuck in dirty air so his lap times were not so representative

Just want to point out that the slowest time in fp2 was faster than the fastest time in fp1. Basically these practice sessions don't mean jack, the teams are running their own tests and there's such a big gap, and there's going to be an even bigger gap in actual quali and the race.
