7:25 I think you misunderstood the whole Snake vs Bull God Nahobino/Aogami is Susano-o , he's a "Bull God". Thats why they said the Canon of Creation has the pov of a Bull God. Thats even reference in how the protaginist can share his knoweldge with Gods like Zeus and Baal, which are also "Bull Gods" or "Horned God". Then you have Nahobino abidiel and even Panasia Tao having Horns and other Bull related aspects to them. Whil the snake gods , you fight a lot of snake like demons. Hydra, Nahobino Nuwa, Nuwa , Lahmu , etc Nahobino isn't supposed to be or have any element from Snake Gods because he's reincarnation of Susano-no , even has reference to his sword , in the attack Murakumo (ame-no-murakumo-no-tsurugi). I don't blame you from forgetting the fact that Aogami is supposed to be the ProtoFiend for Susano-o because its not explored AT ALL in SMTV and its of my biggest issue with the original release.

I remember that one tree that was just level 99 versions of beginning demons and how little damage I deal versus how much damage they deal with basic spells when my party was around level 60. The african demons are not at all the first. For one, you have egyptian reps. Two, african demons have been in games like SMT 2 and Devil summoner, but it was a drop in the bucket compared to other lore, and most have never made an appearance outside of those games.

I think they're great designs. There's always been a theme of evil disguised as beauty, so I think they're a perfect examples of that. And it's not because I'm a guy and am thinking "OMG boobs!" I'm gay, so that doesn't work on me. I don't get the whole backlash against good looking women in video games either. It's not applied to men. I had a game where the reviews predictably criticized the objectification of female characters, but no mention of the shirtless men wearing tight leather pants. Why is one not worth mentioning, but the other has people all flustered? I should also point out that despite being gay, I can play a game with a hot guy in it without being all, "I'm too distracted to play this because he's just too sexy!"

Most of their mythos involves them being seductresses in some form. like the blond one being essentially able to seduce any man, god, or demon also known as the mother of Nephilim, or the witch looking one creates succubi as well as witches and seduces both men and women, etc. So sexy is kinda a theme for the Quaditsu.

For me, the level scaling thing is an absolutely massive win, the most hype change of the bunch, but mostly in the other direction. Because similarly to how being underlevelled could shut you down regardless of your strategy or even your stats (looking at you, Zeus), being overlevelled could completely negate the challenge. This was particularly apparent in the True ending, since Shiva is lvl 97 and Lucifer is lvl 90 even with his new phase. Dealing with the level scaling can actually make Taito's open structure work and make late-game bosses challenging even on NG+.

Also, it means they can't make the Shakan dungeon punishing and risky because you can just save whenever you want. I feel this is a horrible change, and I won't be using it. Part of SMT is planning and managing your resources, save anywhere negates this so much. My Dad introduced me to Nocturne as a kid in 2008, and I lost so much progress at times exploring the LoA, but that is part of the experience. Learning from those mistakes and preparing better for the future. Save anywhere completely removes this and ruins the flow of dungeons. In IV it wasn't to big of a deal because Dungeons weren't common, but in V Vengance this will be stupid

The main problem with the save function was not that it was too difficult to get to the next leyline. It was the fact that you couldn't just stop playing where ever you liked. If I gotta stop the game and go do something then I have to get to the next leyline or go back to the previous one.

Personally, save anywhere is one of the biggest upsides for me. While I never played the original for more than 2 hours, I am incredibly unlucky when it comes to games crashing whenever they want. Beating a boss, or exploring an area just for the game to hang up on something is pretty much a guarantee for any game I play, so saving almost constantly is something I do all the time.

I agree with you on save anywhere. It is unnecessary, simply because you can already save whenever you want in SMT V by just teleporting back to the leyline fount. Save anywhere is just gonna enable you to save after every battle if you want to and remove the adrenaline rush you get in most megaten games when you've fought multiple enemies before hitting a save point. Basically it'll make the game easier, but not in a fun way.

Like would you use a worse skill to handicap yourself just because there's another skill that is overpowered? I wouldn't. I like to use every tool at my disposal to win the game; that's kind of the entire point of playing the game. This kind of argument you're making makes little sense when you're actually playing the game and only really makes sense as a post hoc rationalization for why games should always be made easier and more accessible to more players (because advanced players can always just avoid using the features). It will only impact my enjoyment to consciously avoid using certain features of the game that I have deemed make the game too easy. If you also agreed with me about this feature you would see how what you're saying doesn't make sense. The only reason people make these kinds of arguments is because they themselves don't care. Games get balanced around their features so you're not meant to play them and consciously avoid the very features the game is balanced around. For all we know leyline founts could be more sparse this time around considering you don't need them to save your game. So I'm not gonna handicap myself just because I disagree with a new feature being added. I hope this helps you understand how saying "just don't use it" makes no sense.

And about Apocalypse vibes, Massacre Ending Nanashi would certainly fit with the lore of both V and VV as a superboss. This unique skill and team building reminds me of Dx2. Especially what they showed up in the video where nahobino fire damage grew exponentially with skills centered for a fire based team. I feel like this game is gonna be one of my favorites and that's ironic because the vanilla version is one of my most hated experiences but Vengeance is fixing so many things that I had an issue with. The save anywhere makes sense since the game isn't switch exclusive anymore. Playing it on steam in particular I will be very grateful to have save anywhere allowed so I can quickly close the game and do something else. It was fine to put the switch in sleep mode but PC and even other consoles to some extent aren't necessarily as lenient with this.

I also have a problem with the Switch version's "bonus" for having a base game save. They should've just made a version of Vengeance that acts as an expansion to the base game, like how Monster Hunter did with World: Iceborne and Rise: Sunbreak. I get they want you to experience the new story from level 1 and using the NG+ bonuses can break that, but they could just not allow NG+ into the other story. And only being able to bring 3 demons over just feels like a slap to the face of people who completed the compendium. If I can only bring over 3 demons, I may as well just bring the best.

I'm good with save anywhere, as long as you're not allowed to use it in the new Shakan dungeon as that would remove the risk factor. Suspend, sure. Save no, that shouldn't be allowed. You mess up, you pay the consequences. This is how I feel about every SMT dungeon and I'm hoping Shakan is just as punishing as Amala where you mess up you're going back to the begining of that section and learning from your mistakes

I preordered SMT V and really enjoyed it. Was I a little let down by the endings? Definitely. But the gameplay was great, and I had an amazing time customizing my demons and using the ones I like. I've also preordered SMT V:V. I'm not opposed to buying re-releases. In some cases, my dumb ass has bought essentially the same game 4 times. I will happily buy games that I enjoyed again. I know Atlus is getting pretty heavy handed with them, but they are still a company I have supported for years. I was so happy when SMT V sold 1 million copies, because it felt like one of my favorite series was getting worldwide recognition. Atlus isn't a small little company anymore, but I still want to show my support anyways. And I am so excited for Vengeance, I can't wait for the game to come out

I don't mean to throw cold water on people excited for this game, but it kind of annoys me. After playing four other SMT games, I was kind of disappointed with V. That's not to say I don't like it, but it didn't live up to my expectations. I'm still only about half way through it, although I'm still determined to finish it. But now this is coming out, so I just quit V, or pass on VV? With as long as it takes me to get through SMT games, there's no way I'm doing both. I kind of feel like SMT V was a half baked project they tricked me into buying, and now they're releasing the real product.

yea, it sucks man, especially if you started a playthrough before this was announced. I played SMTV at launch and beat it, very long since I did all quests and bosses so about 155 hrs. If you do get Vengeance, you WILL have to start a brand new playthrough, there is no carryover, and you will start from scratch. If that's a complete turn-off for you, that's understandable. If you still want to experience all the new content despite the cons, I would just stop playing and wait for the new release. All of us have to play the game again until an unknown point where new content starts. I wouldn't say tricked since both SMT IV games are still Nintendo exclusives on the 3ds, so many of us assumed the SMTV exclusivity was gonna stick but the game sold extremely well and boom now its multi platform. Atlus pulled a similar stunt with person 5, persona 5 royal and ps5 versions has no carryover either, they just dont give a fuck lol
