While the fact that most of the England team went to private schools is true. A fair few of them start off at a state school, then win a scholarship to a private school e.g. Billy, Mako, Sinkler, Genge, Itoje, wilson, Nowell. As well as brown, care and marler that you mentioned. Not all are from posh backgrounds. Not bashing the video, amazing as always

Historically Rugby in England is the game of the private schools and upper classes. Almost all private schools do not play football they play Rugby instead. I know because I went to one for 3 years and as I love to play football this was a pain in the arse. Nowadays it is getting played more outside of private schools hence some of the players you talked about but there is no getting away from the fact that in England it is still THE sport of the private schools. When you consider 5% of the population go to private school yet the England team is probably 50-70% private school and in the past practically 100%.

Before I start my rant I just want to say how good these videos are. The effort put in is outstanding and the quality is amazing. I know I’m going to get a lot of stick for this comment because I’m firstly supporting England and welsh and pretty much the rest of the world support wales or hate England but I think Wales’s ‘we’ve forgotten how to lose because we’ve won our last 11 games’ idea is silly because if you look at the teams they’ve recently beaten you would understand why they haven’t lost them apart from the South Africa teams who have, debatably, recently lost to England. South Africa were the only team that could properly challenge wales for a victory due to injury and out of form Scotland, not to mention Australia’s form... France as well with no competitive attitude, Argentina who are not quite top 5 despite playing 12 against 10 against Australia (Israel folou). Despite these wins against the only real challenger, South Africa’s performance was not as good as it should have been shown by the second halves when they took back the games and started gaining on wales who were saved by Dan biggars kicks tbh. England almost beat nz, smashed Ireland France and Australia and beat sa despite an awful performance and a very debatable ending result. Please no hate. Just my opinion when saying that wales have the strongest team atm and will beat England. Fact. It’s just not true. Wales have not convincingly won any game even against Italy’s recently. England however has against Ireland and France and Australia. Most I’ve ever written even for a history essay 😂jheez

I'm Welsh but no stick from me because I agree with a lot you say.. Tomorrow kind of feels like watching two poker players from a rugby performance point of view ? Eng have shown everyone a lot of their cards while Wales Have either purposely kept them well hidden or the hand they've been dealt really is as poor as their recent performances suggest and not going to get any better .. I hope it's not the latter ... either way ? I feel it's shit or bust time for Wales tomorrow... and if they don't manufacture a strong hand and eng continue to lay out all the right cards on the table..? It's going to be a long day for the men in red..

The Wales England dynamic is pretty cool, and something that's incredibly interesting particularly with the shared landmass, pool of players yet different social status to rugby. I'd love a bit on the Irish English dynamic! Not only do you have a similar hatred (though for more oppressive reasons) but to also muddy the waters you have the tricky issue of Northern Ireland and the troubles! Then in terms of where rugby sits on the social circle you have the interplay between our native sport and rugby ; the transferability of certain skills and attributes, yet for contrast, typically the two sports go at loggerheads to hold audiences away from one another in respective communities. There's a whole lot going on that I reckon you could nail!

There is no class system in English Rugby Union. I started playing in 1996 for a club. I came from a pretty rough council estate with working class parents. Never, ever did I feel like an outsider or the wrong class to play rugby. On the contrary, when you pull on that Jersey, Class, status, wealth go out the window. Every man is your equal. I've never once seen a lack of respect or nasty remarks about someone's background whilst playing rugby. Rugby is the great leveller. That's why, for me, it's the greatest sport in the world. It embodies everything good about people: Repect, courage, humility, honesty and compassion.

@@MindSurf248 The Welsh Kingdom was founded in 1057! But yes there were different smaller kingdoms....but that was often due to family rivalry. The Welsh system was setup differently where Rulers land and assets would be split evenly. More fair, but it opened up rivalry. And a break up of the kingdom. Even though they were separate...they all had similar origins. Another words, descended from the same people. So I think my comment still applies. This is also why the title Rex Britonorum wasn't permanent...it would only be used when the Bythonic kingdoms would come together. And it would then be obsolved. This is the main reason why the foundation of a Welsh Kingdom took considerably longer than the English counterpart.

I think England fans would say their most important match is NZ, and everyone else says its England. Also Scotland V England has definitely been the more deadly feud (historically)

Not at rugby it hasn't. Outside the Borders, rugby is still strictly a posh sport in Scotland, and the Borders really lacks the radical, working class identity that South Wales has. It's forelock-tugging country. If you want to see Scotland-England tension you need to watch football.

@@joeboonmusic4004 They've played each other about 114 times, with England winning 48, Scotland winning 41 and 25 draws. Apart from wars, they played each other annually from 1874 to 1989 and they were always big occasions until (largely English) hooliganism led to the authorities cancelling it. Scotland led the series as late as 1985, but England have won 8 of the last 11 meetings to pull ahead. It's only in the last 15 years or so that it could be called one-sided, Scotland last beat England at Wembley in a European Championship play-off match in 1999. Even in their last meeting, in June 2017, it took a 93rd minute equaliser for England to salvage a 2-2 draw. So until recently this was easily the biggest rivalry in international football in Europe.

@@gordon1545 Well I didn't know all of that, thanks for the information. I 100% disagree that it's anywhere near the biggest rivalry in European football. Ask anyone, apart from maybe Scottish fans, who will win between the 2 sides and I guarantee most would say England. Partly because we've actually won tournaments. Anyway, I hate football so can't be bothered to talk about it.

Sure centuries of war and oppression have nothing compared to what class you're team's made up of. *sarcasm implied*

There is a history of opression though england famously opressed the welsh under henry viii and then even as recent as last centuary they caned welsh kids in welsh schools for speaking welsh. There might not be modern examples of war since ya know wales have been englands pets for almost half a millenium at this point but that doesnt change a deep history of oppression. Only recently theres been an emergance of welsh culture and welsh pride since the welsh finally felt confident to express it without being physically threatened

Everyone has a major rivalry with England because they are basically the centre of Britain and everything wrong with it. Everyone hates them. Even 'Northern' Ireland, wherever that is.

Squidge, great video, we from across the pond are hoping for the obvious result. Interesting question if these are the best two England/Wales teams to have played each other, after the England/Ireland game, you'd have to say all three are second equal in the rankings the small furry, green-centred fruit people. Let's pray for an injury-free game.
