Ok hear me out .. you make rc tankd out of like sheet metal or cardboard so they can be Mass produced and DESTRUCTIBLE fill them with fireworks in key areas or ammo racks then the gun is loaded with incendiary rounds so if a tank is ammo racked it explodes the fireworks and the tanks would be cheap to make cause it's just motors metal tracks gun barrel and a inside shell out of metal so it doesn't get crushed but Still hqs holes and explodes when hit still working on it

I cannot stress enough how much better the HL 6.0 system is. I absolutely love the system. The only real complaints i've seen is that the IR functions don't work that well in sunlight and that is easily fixed by taking the sensor apart and putting it in a mushroom shell. I also went on to buy a Mato King Tiger recently. It has the Clark electronics and stuff, all metal body...I don't love it as much as some others because the Clark system feels just so overly complicated control wise. I will whole heartedly agree with you about the Shermans being awesome. I have three HL Shermans, one with wading gear, one dressed up like Oddball's from Kelly's Heroes, and one with a Pershing turret like the prototype from '44, but with Super Pershing parts added. By far they are the best runners I have. I would suggest a Sherman for the people just getting into the hobby because they are pretty much trouble free. Never had an issue with one By the way, your cut the grass comment....Shapeways sells a hedge cutter for the HL Sherman, it likes tearing through grass, hell on dandelions too
@garyhoff21784 жыл бұрын
You'll never catch me buying anything from shapeways. In my opinion, they're some of the biggest crooks out there. The prices they charge are absolutely ridiculous. I once printed some T-34 wheels for a guy for about 35 cents each, and shapeways wanted $32 each for the same wheels. Thanks, but no thanks.

Just getting into RC tanks. Looking for an IR battle one. Are different brands compatible for IR transmission and receiving? Thanks. What are the brands mentioned in this video? I hear their names but not sure how to spell or find their home webpage.
@garyhoff21784 жыл бұрын
The different brands are not compatible. Tamiya is the gold standard and they have their own battle system. Heng long tanks (6.0 only) will take and receive hits from a Tamiya and vice versa but they don't have any of the other features like reduced speed for simulated battle damage. The taigen and Torro tanks are a system of their own and are not compatible with anybody else. You can use an aftermarket board to become Tamiya compatible and that's what most guys do with non Tamiya tanks that they want to battle. If you ask me, the best place to get IR tanks right now, if you're not going to buy tamiya, is taigen tanks, also known as the imex model company down in Florida.

I want to know what tank has the loudest cannon firing sounds. Most of these tanks have poor cannon firing sounds. I hate the noisy engine sounds.
@garyhoff21783 жыл бұрын
Took me a little while to look into this, but there doesn't seem to be much difference in the volume of Cannon sound from one tank to the other. I like the IBU control board and if you upgrade to the TPA amp it gives you two different sound channels and a volume switch for each Channel. 1 channel is just engine, and the other has all your secondary sounds, like machine gun and Cannon and turret rotation noise. I use remote volume switches so I can turn the engine sounds completely off if I want to. I did that so that I would be able to turn the volume down from the transmitter so I would be able to listen to How the tank is running, to see if anything sounds bad.

@garyhoff21782 жыл бұрын
Disconnecting the trigger switch will stop the recoil, but you also lose the sound effect. If the tank is new enough you can disable the recoil on the mfu or the TX, depending on brand, and if it's older you can get rid of the recoil with an anti recoil device like the one from RCTA.

That was one of my first tanks and it's still a favorite. I did a 7 part series on upgrading this tank that starts here kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6nNmZSBlplosNE and this covers most of the mechanical upgrades. I have the brass gears, which are now OOP, but the "5:1" gears work well for this tank, and give a much better scale speed than the "3:1" boxes. Go ahead and paint it any way you want to, you won't hurt the electronics (or anything else) by painting it whatever color you choose. Mine will eventually get a better paint job, and if you're looking for decals, look for Peddinghaus or try ebay for tamiya decals in 1/16 scale.

@garyhoff21782 жыл бұрын
Something like this is good to start with www.taigentanks.com/collections/taigen-tank-parts/products/taigen-v3-2-4ghz-motherboard-sound-card-choose-sounds You can use your own 2.4 tx/rx with this (tanks are best with both sticks self centering so aircraft gear may require mods), or you can go with aftermarket boards like the IBU and Clark. Right now is a good time to buy IBUs from the UK if you're in the U.S. as the dollar is very strong against the pound right now. Your first questions should be, how fancy do I want to get? and How much do I want to spend? You can get away fairly cheap with the $50 kit and see how much you like tanks, then if you want to go aftermarket it starts around $100 to $150 and from there the sky's the limit. Be warned it can be very addictive.

What's the biggest battery you've placed into one of your tanks, i hear that one can run these tank's with a 5000ah for one hour. I have been collecting these tanks over 15 years. Past experience; the oil burner tends to stop working, every time one turns the tank upside down to remove the battery the bb loader is thrown out of whack bb's start getting stuck prior to firing, the suspension went out of whack on my Panzer, then its the 7 minute (battery run) to short of a time for real enjoyment. After a while i noticed that an all metal upgrade was the way to go. Yet the firing system stayed the same they should upgrade it. Thx, for the great vid just subscribed.

My biggest battery is an 8000 mah 6s lipo that I use in my 1/6 scale tank. My biggest in 1/16 is 5000mah and yes, it will run the average tank for well over an hour.

Just an FYI, Tamiya had IR battle systems 20 years ago. Absolutely shameful how the Chinese straight up copied the Tamiya Sherman, King Tiger and Tiger 1 all those years ago. My collection is mostly Tamiya 1/16 and Bandai 1/15 scale tanks. The only tank i've ever owned by Heng Long was their original airsoft Tiger 1 and i have to say it was absolutely horrible. The control board inside looked like it had been soldered by a blind 5 year old, Lasted about a week before the electronics gave up and the smoke unit didnt work from the get go. The one good thing was that it only cost £50 back in 2005. Not going to risk any more money on Henh Long no matter how many bells and whistles they throw in. Tamiya or nothing, absolutely worth saving up for.

Sounds like you haven't seen any of my fpv videos. I've mounted several cameras in tanks so they can be driven with goggles or you can watch the screen attached to the transmitter. On my hetzer the fpv camera helps to aim the paintball Cannon.

Hi I had had to play part of this vid 3 or 4 times to make sure I was not hearing things I was stunned when you said Tamiya was the gold standard as I have never heard someone say something good about Tamiya its always been known as the gold standard of crap cheap and nasty in the UK when did it change I thought the only thing they could make was paint they were never any good or even capable of making hobby grade models just RC toy cars.
