@ivannbg62122 жыл бұрын
Because of the TOP GUN MAVERICK MOVIE (which was PHENOMENAL) I HAD TO WATCH THE ORIGINAL AGAIN AFTER LONG TIME. AND Maaaaan Nostalgia CUTS LIKE A KNIFE HERE. I will BE VERY HONEST AND I'M NOT SCARE TO SHARE IT. The music, the love story, everything. One impression i get from watching the original is everyone look phenomenal and REAL, NATURAL. KELLY MCGINNIS looks gorgeous. And I love the fact that she is True to herself NOWADAYS, saying that she's now old and fat and age appropriate for her age and she is not forcing herself to look like all Hollywood glossy. And some people are killing her for that. Let her be who she is. She was and still is a beautiful woman. I would love to see her more taking care of herself, but for her health generaly. I'm not asking for her to BE SUPERMODEL as she was in her 20's or 30s, we all age differently. She is full aware of herself, her look and if you erase the fact that she got weight, everything about her STILL LOOKS REAL, and NATURAL without surgeries. And that got me thinking about the world we're living right now. Fake, where everybody are sensitive, men not acting like men sometimes. Women with copy/paste style, haircuts, fake boobs, lips, tattoos all over the body, plastic surgeries (I don't have nothing against that, but i have when it's over the top). No true romance, live conversations, everything it's about DM'S on Instagram or similar shit via social Media, clicking on our phones. We need to come back to basics. All of us. I love old-school movies like this with these romance stories where people used to SHOW EMOTIONS and SPILL THEIR GUTS over it just Like Maverick and Charlie HERE . Maybe it's cheese or corny or over the top or predictable for some new generations, but i love sometimes to watch good old popcorn movie without overthinking. Every scene with MAVERICK AND CHARLIE is sexy as hell, their chemistry is OFF THE CHART, make me wish that we all have that type of woman/man in our life. And the SONG TAKE MY BREATH AWAY IS JUST LEGENDARY and brings so much emotions, real emotions. And by the way MAVERICK IS FANTASTIC SEQUEL IN HIS OWN RIGHT. BOTH FILMS ARE GOOD IN THEIR OWN RIGHT. I know it's little off the topic but i hope that there are still a lot of real people out there. DON'T BE AFRAID TO SHOW YOUR EMOTIONS NO MATTER WHAT SOCIETY TELLS YOU. BE REAL, be TRUE TO YOURSELF, LOVE YOURSELF for who you are and don't be shy to express it.

One of the reasons why Tom Cruise is a great movie star is because he is not afraid to let his co-stars shine or even outshine him in some of their roles if it means making a better movie. He lets other people shine as well. Jack Nicholson, Ken Watanabe, Val Kilmer, Cuba Gooding Jr, etc. All got a lot of attention or academy award nominations for roles in his films. Even Bryan Brown in Cocktail played a very interesting character.

I would not describe the moment she said, "So you're the one." as the moment they fell in love. It was the moment that she revealed that despite the fact she was previously acting as if she knew nothing about the incident he had described, she had heard all about it, before. By saying, "So you're the one" she was telling him she was impressed with him. Later in the movie she revealed to him how extremely impressed she was, when she said, "When I first met you, you were larger than life." Very well written.

I remember I watched this film when I was little and loved it. I watched it again a few days ago and was pretty disappointed to be honest. The film has great visuals, great music, great actors, but no actual plot. I am seeing Maverick in a few days and I hope it's better.

One fact of Tom Cruise is he takes all his stunts and acting very seriously. He is at another level of acting in the realms of Heath Ledger, which in my opinion is the GOAT of all acting. Heath actually immersed himself as the character whenever possible. It was extreme, but got every character to the T

I really love that Tom Cruise's romantic interests in films are not just the drop dead gorgeous supermodel type. That might be because he's much shorter than most supermodels, LOL but still I appreciate it. **edit I want to make it clear I think Kelly McGillis is really really pretty, but not a 5'11, 110 lbs supermodel with never a hair out of place and full makeup that never smudges.

At that point in her career Kelly McGillis was drop dead gorgeous supermodel type...
@TayTay332 жыл бұрын
@@emillyyelen5169 no, she wasn't. She was a beautiful, relatable woman with a badass job, not a 5'10", 100 lb Aphrodite with never a hair out of place. Most of Tom's leading ladies are more along those lines. Not sure why you took this as some kind of insult you had to correct, but you can go away now.

Kelly is taller than Tom. He had to adjust with him during kissing scenes.
@TayTay332 жыл бұрын
@@TheSuperk25 come on, now. She's only 3" taller. I'm 5'2" so it's not hard for someone to be taller than me. My fiance is 5'8"-ish and I don't have to "adjust". That's rubbish.

He reminds me of Hangman so much in these scenes. Just so confident. Both 1 and 2 are absolute gems.
@WildernessForever2 жыл бұрын
Hangman reminded me of Iceman. Both were self confident to the point of being overly cocky, but Hangman was kinda dangerous like Mav used to be while Ice was cocky but knew the rules of engagement and followed them
@lisa-t Жыл бұрын
@@WildernessForevertotally agree. I think Hangman was clearly intended to be a combination of the two, but he was more Iceman’s arrogance, with Maverick’s flying style.
