That's enough water to make the oceans rise straight up 30, 000 feet. Additional water would be needed to cover all land mass up to 30,000 feet. Everest is 29,032 ft. So way more then double all current water on earth's surface .... is now in "the Pacific Ocean is really huge, it's huge"

The amazing trick with the Bible is that it intentionally casts a wide net of "predictions" with its ambiguity. So you can have two events that are polar opposites and still be consistent with the Bible. For instance, if all the world's population becomes Christian, that is consistent with the Bible. If all the world rejects Christianity, that is also consistent with the Bible. Firmament, or no firmament, the Bible is consistent with both models. The discontinued Law of Moses, or the persisting Law of Moses. Evolution or no evolution. A "generation" can span any amount of time. The Bible allows for both literal and metaphorical predictions to be equally valid.

Source? Edit: An Eritrean *man* has died at the age of 127, his family has claimed, as they called for Guinness World Records to recognise him as the oldest person to ever have lived. (This was from a 2021 article @ Daily Mail..)

Very high chance that this isn't real. A recent study of the super old found that the majority achieved their amazing age via bad record keeping and/fraud.

The water of global flood went into the pacific ocean. Was the pacific ocean half empty before the flood?

The Pacific ocean is huge.... uh huh, and? A global flood would have to add water on top of the Pacific ocean. It doesn't matter how large or deep the Pacific is, it would need to be filled with water before the land was flooded. It doesn't explain where all that water went because it was already full of water in order for the flood of the land to happen at all.
@Captain101-x1o10 сағат бұрын
And to flood the pacific to 29,000ft above sea level in order to raise the oceans to cover all land would require a volume of water twice that of the pacific just to cover the area of the pacific! (Average depth of the pacific is 14,000ft)
@richardpowell12203 сағат бұрын
@@Captain101-x1o It would take 1.1 billion cubic miles of water to flood the entire planet. The Pacific contains about 170 million cubic miles of water. There are about 320 million square miles of water in all the oceans put together. Arithmetic appears to be another subject the man is not well versed in.
@BlarglemanTheSkeptic3Сағат бұрын
The exact answer is that it would take 3.16× the amount of water on the planet, extra.

2:28 wasn't every ocean already full while the flood was happening? If so, how can the rest of the water go there? It is already full and actually it would have been overflowing. 11:05 using that argument, god created light before the heavens and earth as well, his arguments aren't thought through very well

There are cultures that have been around before the flood. How come they never wrote about it let alone survived it? Even if this is accurate, it doesn't excuse all the other things that are not.

He is projecting what we know into the scripture. Post hoc rationalism. If what he claims was true then people should have interpreted those things to mean the same thing before science discovered it. People 500 years ago should have said that this verse means that the universe is expanding ( not just use the word expanse to signify it being vast which is the case)

There is science to suggest it may well have been. There were no mountains or valleys though so it was a pretty shallow ocean of comparatively uniform depth.

In Genesis 7:19 - 20, water covered the entire land and even the highest mountain peak was 15 cubits under the water. So, this means when the flood occurred, Noah was struck by the scientific urge to know how deep the water was and he and his family frantically rowed the ark with full of animals to the Himalayas (and with incredible accuracy. I have to point out that using traditional navigation method, it is normal to have tens, if not hundreds of miles of margin of error, and in ancient times, they had none of these methods and equipment), measured the depth (without grounding the ark), then rowed back to the original place within 40days.

If the story of Noah is true, it proves that God is a sadistic, malevolent, evil being. He could have just made the people cease to be; he could have sent his angel of death (as in Egypt) and have everyone die in their sleep; but no, he thought it would be best to drown everyone -- women, children, babies, pregnant women: everyone. All the animals were just collateral damage. Sadistic, nasty, and definitely someone not worthy of worship.

You are expecting too much when you say to him "For the sake of argument let's say is true.." as he simply does not understand the hypothetical construct. To him, his IS TRUE and so he simply cannot comprehend any instance where it would/ could not be.
