Note: The Goth subculture was an outgrowth of post punk and It's not what people all stereotype it out to be. But their is far darker music than just goth music. More than less goth is simply an 80's style of dark music... Note I mostly wear all black myself because it is essential to the mindset... Note not only goths read Gothic fiction (Edgar Allen Poe) or appreciates the dark side of things

Just a minor notice from a former Goth, who still listens to a lot of gothic music. DEven though the type of sound portrayed in the movie is generally appreciated by the goth community, it is not Goth, but Industrial, and specifically, electro industrial (you can call it dark electro or aggrotech if you want, doesn't make any sort of relevant difference), but it has nothing to do with Goth (gothic rock and Gothic metal). Now I am a goth my self. This is my opinion of goths. I believe that goths are polite and friendly. They respect everyone who respects them. They aren't "Wild" they never go to big partys and get drunk, the NEVER do drugs. If they want to get a little high the drink Absinth. Goths dress nicely. cotton coats, ties, a little make up perhaps, and ALWAYS black or dark red. That is my personal opinion of goths. And a good desciption of my self.

I can answer that one because you know... I'm also black. The answer to that question is nobody has to, because goth isn't just a fashion. It is a lifestyle; it is a state of mind. Us goth folk live the culture 24/7. It is who we are. I wear black not by default, but by choice; but that alone does not make me goth, as said person in this video.
