yess, as a young artist I always wondered anxiously if it was okay to just use random prompts from different daily challenges completely out of order, it seemed like it would be so enjoyable but I was always scared that it would come off as theft or otherwise bad form! as a semi-adult, I can now recognize that art is supposed to be fun, and challenges are an extension of that, so one should approach any for-fun art challenge with whatever attitude lets you have the most fun!! ⭐️🎉

It probably wasn't intentional, but this challenge you created is the perfect example of the cut-curb effect. I have a disability and I've never managed to even go past week one of inktober. My condition requires plenty of rest, and sketching something, even if small, everyday for a whole month is impossible for me. I've stopped even trying years ago for this reason, but now there's finally a new challenge that I can be passionate about without the need of sacrificing my needs! Thanks Rea!

Oh big same, dude!! Before I worked here, I also ordered the Strawberry Hoodie, and after I joined the team it was one of the first things June and I discussed together. We were really unhappy with the previous merch company, and decided things would be better if we just Did It Ourselves. I made it a point to research different kinds of cotton, and ordered test sweaters ahead of time so that I could wear them out and wash them for quality assurance. These ones are wickedly soft, and the screenprinting is done with water based inks instead of just plastisols to ensure it soaks directly into the fabric and lasts a long time. Is your discord username the same as your youtube one? I learned that I like using some special colored sharpies to bleed through the page, coloring under my pencil sketches in a more gentle way that doesn’t mess up the pencil or look like it has streaks, so I’m tempted to try a full piece like that, but maybe with alcohol markers too so I get more colors to work with

I don't even bother with Inktober, I don't trust myself to not make mistakes drawing with pen. But for the last 3 years, I did an OC-tober. But instead of sticking to any themes, I drew just about _every_ OC or alt-universe variant (long story, no time to explain here) I had envisioned for various projects I had in my head, and it still came out to over 90. First year, I actually tried drawing every character on either "the day of" or "the day before", and one could _easily_ tell how off most of them looked. The next two, I actually drew each one about a month or so in advance, at least. For the record: I draw nearly everything _by hand_ in pencil-&-paper, scan that, then redraw/color digitally. So the process can take about a day, give or take. This year, I've been migrating my art away from the raging dumpster inferno formerly known as Twitter, and am now dumping my current cast on Bluesky and Cara.

I did my first ever inktober about 2 years ago and while I did finish it, I got so much burnout that it lasted until like March the next year and I didn’t do any kind of challenge the next October lmao. However, this year I’m finally trying it again but remedying the risk of burnout by just not doing any full drawings for it and filling out a sketchbook page with doodles inspired by the prompts! so far it’s going well actually and being fun but also letting me save my color-and-rendering-and-all-that-jazz energy for other stuff :>

The merch plug was about the hardest I've laughed in a while. There's been a fewer people doing easier challenges for people who just want the artist community social participation but are too swamped to do 30 a month. There's actually a prompt format where it breaks up the month into three or four sub themes with the prompts numbered as days divided between them. So you say week one was "Ruler of" and day one was "birds", 2 was "fire" & 3 was "trees" you do each individually or combine them however for the week possibility doing a "ruler of the fire bird trees". Which you can do with any prompt list, but it's about putting it in the phrasing so it's less pressure and more artist community everyone doing similar things in roughly the same time.
