I'm so jealous! That's some great fishing! I live on the other side of the Atlantic and we have destroyed almost all marine life with fishing nets with long chains dragging along the bottom. About 10 years ago I had a short holiday at Fort Lauderdale and managed to catch a Pompano at Pompano beach! I remember talking to a nice man who was fishing and catching sand fleas for bait. I thought he was about 50 years old but he told me he was 70! The good life!

I just wanted to say that of all the fishing videos, I enjoy yours the most simply because you don't just catch fish, you explain how and where and the equipment you use. Plus, a man who takes his mom fishing is a sign of excellent character. Anyway, I used to do a great deal of offshore fishing, but I no longer have my boat. So, I took to the beach. I came across some pre-rigged wire rigs. Are they of any use in beach fishing? Of course, not for pompano or whiting.

Great video. One of the things i love the most about the area is all the air traffic. Between Keesler AFB, NAS Pensacola, Eglin AFB, and not to mention coast guard sector mobile theres always something to see always some training going on in the spring time. Its awesome to relaxing on the beach waiting for a bite and to have someone fly by.

Steve, as I commented the other day, on Capt.Collier's channel. .."Avon skin so soft' works really well for the no-see-ums , skeeters too, You need some before going near the water.. keep it cool and handy in the shade under the deck steps. .Give it a try.You won't regret it. Why did you keep the pompano but put the Red fish back? That’s better eating than the pompano. Looks like you made your mom get rid of her catch while keeping yours
@stegmandd2 жыл бұрын
Because that size redfish is typically a breeding fish. Good practice to release the bigger fish, and keep the ones that fall within the slot size.
@BamaSaltwater2 жыл бұрын
@@stegmandd Exactly, thanks !
@doctorcrew16312 жыл бұрын
1. You don’t want to inhibit the breeding tanks 2. Bigger fish (in comparison with others of the same species) can have an undesirable texture as it would be a bit mushy
