Forty years ago, I did all that layout that you are doing from scaffolds by walking backwards down the 2x4 top plates. This was on work up to three stories high. Only one fall that was scary.

WOW, I freaked out my 1st boss (1979) when I laid out the floor before we stood the walls. But then I always stacked my joist and studs, so it was easy with 16" OC. Wasn't until 19.2" metric came around for I joist that screwed that up.

That's the only way we did it. Layout everything you can on the ground and walk the plates.

Dang, Awesome I need to rewatch again because I didn't catch the part where you didn't demonstrate, clearly, that you have done this before, like more than twice. Because that's not real! Back when I was drinking coffee out of a reed mat, and we had to inscribe all our marks, because we worked with Rock, uphill both ways in the snow, we just threw everything up in the air and called it a shelter I don't know how you even call yourself Awesome

Real carpenters didn't need to do layout. Everything stacks above the floor below. Joist over the studs at 16" o.c

When you use dissimilar material, eg I Joists of different flange widths, you indeed need layout. Real carpenters know this.
