Thank you for calling out the misrepresentation of Popper's Paradox of Tolerance! It is so frustrating that people ignore that Popper clearly outlined that the type of intolerance he was specifically talking about were those that both showed intolerance AND were not willing to engage in rational discourse on the topic. So long as people are willing to engage in rational discourse, they shouldn't be shown intolerance in return. The left, however, has both twisted this into "anyone they don't like" being shown intolerance AND overly collectivized it, so that those in groups or associated with people they don't like are shown intolerance. When you actually employ Popper's standards, Hanlon's Razor, and the Principle of Charity, then you get productive discussions, a calmer society, less polarization, etc.

Building a cage around people is a violent act, even if no physical contact is made. Allowing foreigners to rule over a nation is a violent act, because of what they will do with it, because foreigners will not care about the natives. Prepping a battlefield for war is understandably violent, yet someone dropping a culture bomb directly on someone's neighborhood is not seen as violent. The problem is neither side has the balls to start a civil war. Not to mention the problems with the lack of real capability or lack of organization and other technical problems with the notion of civil war. The most realistic outcome is a continued cold (cultural) civil war that goes on and on where division, polarization and societal dysfunction ever increases until eventually we end up with societal collapse.

So civil war can’t happen because there’s no country to fight over
@meatloaf5772 Жыл бұрын
@@simonpetrikov3992 that’s one way of looking at it. There’s plenty of reasons why civil war can’t happen
@simonpetrikov3992 Жыл бұрын
@@meatloaf5772 yeah I know that and I know one of the reasons why it won’t start is because people are too comfortable with their living standards to actually start shooting and by the time it gets low enough to the point of start shooting, entropy has eaten away into the country to the point it falls to bits before a civil war could begin and it would be every man for himself
@meatloaf5772 Жыл бұрын
@@simonpetrikov3992 Yep. That's partly why I said no one has the balls. Partly because modern Americans are soft and addicted to lifestyles of comfort and convenience. And you may be right that by the time things got so terrible that it shook Americans out of apathy and forced them into a desperate enough situation where they would revolt/declare war, by then it'd probably be too late.

Considering in reality, Ron would start the riot and attack Bob and crew, Bob and crew would do the bare minimum not to get killed or seriously injured, and the police would then arrest Bob and crew as racist nazis who attacked innocent Ron, yes, yes I do want a civil war.

Closer to real life, I wouldn't be sorry he is going to jail because he has a wife and kids. I would be GLAD he is going to jail to keep his wife and kids safe from him. With parents like that, the kids would even be better off as orphans.
