Absolutely right on loving the platform first! Secondly, don’t get caught up in the HP chase! Replace/upgrade/repair in small stages. I bought my Evo 8 and with in a year it went from fixing one small problem to spiraling into a full blown build and wasn’t able to enjoy the car for what it was.

I love watching and re watching all your clips. I own an 06 IX, grabbed it with three miles on it, currently sitting at 68k, non molested and garaged kept entire life. I had no idea our cars would be considered unicorns in the future. It’s funny cause my son is 11 and coming to that age of digging cars/paying attention to them, and all his little friends tell him how cool it is that his dad has a car from the “fast and furious movies “ lol You pretty much nailed the disclosure about an EVO for sure lol. Stay safe homie and keep that beauty looking mint!

This was my dream car for many years. I’ve had mine since 2005 and it’s been a blast to own. It’s finally fully built. I went 2.0 long rod and Garrett 3582R. It made 630whp on a mustang with the stock intake manifold and throttle body. Lol. The guys at Boostin Performance were so surprised. Your car is beautiful man. I followed your build for a while. I've had my Evo 9 for about 12 years now and have learned that the type of driving you do determines the type of maintenance needed to perform. When I meet new evo owners, I always try to navigate them towards the maintenance items first before the big power chasing. The evo is a dying breed that is not recognized by the newer owners, that it is still an older vehicle. An 03 evo is almost 20 years old, and if you are wanting to make over 400whp it will break stuff when the car came from the factory with on 280 crank hp.

I see a lot of myself in you except that I am a technician and I do my own build through and through. all respect to anyone who doesn't, I love building cars for others as well. but I hate when I see "takeovers" and other people just beating the crap out of their cars. treat it well and it will do the same for you.

Something else to touch base on is that no matter how much you love your evo, always try to not daily it. I'm a massive evo guy. I've had a few over the years and they still are my dream car. I had a habit of daily driving them and after roughly a year-2 years I ran into the same problem. I was complacent with them and didn't care to sell them as I had driven them daily and they lose their "luster". Not even a month after selling each one I had serious regret. Try not to make it your main/only transportation and your love for it will stick around.

Always dreamed of owning an Evo 8 or 9. In 2017 that dream came true for me and I love my Evo 8. There is something very special about mine where I have had 3 freakish events 2 of which I was behind the wheel and 1 I wasn't behind the wheel. The 2 events that I was behind the wheel I could have easily been killed but no damage or injury and the 1 event I wasn't behind the wheel was Hurricane Laura in Lake Charles, Louisana on August 28 2020 lost my apartment which was right in front of the Evo on the 3rd floor but the Evo didn't get a scratch even with having an exterior staircase ripped off the building and roof also ripped off over my apartment. Those 3 events have shown me that I was meant to have this particular Evo 8, to build it to its fullest potential, and also execute every single thing to the highest level of attention to detail I know. 2yrs after Hurricane Laura, it's all coming together, I am keeping this Evo 8 forever because of those 3 freakish events.

been thinking about an evo ix since I was maybe six if I get one I'm planning on keeping and maintaining it till MY timing belt needs replacing if you get what I mean that being said I feel like theres just so much stuff I need to learn before I get my hands on one and get down to business with it I think my future goal would be to get it to 400 HP reliably? If 650 is still reasonable then maybe I can push that but im not too certain not sure if I should do a ton of research or if I should bite the bullet and go on ahead when I was in middle school I kept researching how to build pcs, until I finally got some cash and went for it. Made some mistakes, but I figured it out. What I also noticed was that Id never fully "learn" all this stuff from the internet till I took action afraid im gonna be sat here overanalyzing what to do without ever actually pulling the trigger on buying one if anyone read this essay of a comment and has advice, my ears are open

@@CJ2X I’m currently building my evox. Your video is stuff that people don’t think about. I used to wonder how can someone build something amazing and then gets tired of it and sell it. My evo is never getting sold lol
