I think this guide is actually harder to do a generic one on than tanks are because of how wildly different the gameplay styles are. The biggest things I can think of across classes are: -Heal over time effects are usually a good way to get dps characters who arent in immediate danger back up while you focus on main targets -Use your external defensive often, its useless if you hold onto it forever -Healing cooldowns arent like DPS where theres an ideal window and synergy, throw them out whenever you start to get behind -try to keep an AOE heal effect under the melee if you have it. Will take a ton of pressure off your spot healing. -mass resurrection is available to all healer specs and saves a lot of time. -if anyone ever says "Can I get ONE heal please" the correct answer is to say yes and point them towards their healthstone and potions, then to place them on ignore. Good job on this one just so much follow up to be done has to be individual or grouped into types because the classes really are quite different overall.

After being screamed at by my first few groups way back in vanilla, I just avoided all raids and dungeons. I want to tank or heal but I'm not gonna waste everyone's time. Been solo grinding ever since.

Biggest advise I can give is don't get upset when you are kicked. When tanks or DPS screw up and expect you to outheal their inability to hold aggro or avoid damage you are the one who gets the blame. Just grab yourself a beverage and remember, they are the ones who have to wait for the next healer, all you need to do is wait at the top of the queue for the next tank

As someone who wants to heal, do you just trial and error it until you finally make it through a dungeon with most people happy? I can see me getting kicked over and over again for a while.

Is mistweaver/ fistweaver easier to learn than disc ?

I have way more experience on disc than on mistweaver so this may be biased a bit :) For me in Raid disc is the hardest healer, as you need to prepare your atonements so you have as many people covered at the exact moment the damage comes in. In dungeons, I would argue disc is easier than Mistweaver. Being ranged is easier for most players in dungeons and they have recently removed a lot of their set-up abilities allowing you to burst healing faster. If you have played more melee classes, mistweaver will ptobably feel more natural and may be more enjoyable for you. Hopefully this helps a bit, but if not I believe AutomaticJak plays both at a very high end level so he may have some videos/detailed breakdowns of both.

The video is aimed at beginners/newcomers and since evoker has a requirement to unlock them and start on higher level, I decided to exclude them from this video. There will be a follow up for evokers though :)

I hate holy power, it ruined Paladins completely. As a healer and as a tank. The clan was the only one that was a massive healer but with tanking they were also the only healer that had Tanked with Mana. They just ruined the class by basically creating a healing and tanking class that was in between a rage/mana healer with earned hp which basically acts like a different form of rage for them. It’s just rage on demand through magic abilities to activate the real tank and healer abilities that you need to be successful. My favorite class turned into my most hated. In WoTLK at least the Holy Power was easily earned only to become a bigger and bigger handicap and control method overtime.
