I've actually been following one fangan, and the presentation is *very* low quality, especially the CG art. However, none of that takes away from the story that the creator is telling, so I'm patiently waiting for the next chapter to come out, and hoping that it comes out soon.

Probably a question i would have in mind: What if you want to make your fangan on a different format? Besides using a game, video, or insta format?

Then you just... research on what medium is out there and decide which is feasible for you in story telling and in time management. Like idk, do you want stop-motion video using legos or dolls, or write it and post it on ao3, or draw a comic, or create an ARG? The question is way too vague to answer.

Just something I wanted to get some thoughts on: Any advice for fangans that feature pre-existing characters after the events of their games? For example, how do you continue their story? Do you draw a straight line out from where we saw them last time, or do you take them in a new unexpected direction? How do they evolve? I wanted to ask this as I know a lot of people will have different thoughts on this. Thank you.

There is no problem with that, the most important thing is that you tell your story.

Going without visuals is a perfectly valid way to do this, requiring fewer skills and far less work. You just need to be mindful of the story-telling limits of using text alone; as a writer I've found several cases where I've imagined a great scene in my head, realised that there was no way to recreate that theatre of mind for the audience without them getting lost, thus I had to simplify the scene or swap it out.

I believe so! There are fanganronpas that use music form the real games, and i dont think theres a problem doing that!
