The VQ is a real platform for the price. In the V world the 6,8,10,12 are considered as noble engine. But if you really want to beat the crap of your car. you need to go ( merco amg, audi rs, or Porsche tho) the 5 in line cylinder AUDI RS3 without tune is about 400 hp to the crank. And can make best number without modifications. My homie got one recently tuned it's about 474 wheel hp right now. German for the speed, Italian for the exotic luxury and Japanese for the reliability 🤷🏽‍♂️

All tuners do to get you more power is advance the timing as far as they can without pre-detonation, and add more air and fuel to accommodate. Most cars are tuned for a balance of gas mileage, performance, and reliability. Most tunes for naturally aspirated cars are pretty reliable, but just know your mileage is going to tank.

The VQ37VHR/VQ35HR is one of the most expensive platforms to make power. If you really want high HP, get a Mustang. They're around 35k for a V8 Premium.
