Wonder if it's possible to fabricate a VR38DETT in a G35x? It's already set up for AWD. They use the same ATESA AWD system. The GTR has an upgraded version though with LSD Diff. You can get used ones for around 12gs USD. Or you could always throw a LS3 in it? Don't get me wrong I love the VQ engine. But you can get those VR38DETTs over 1000hp easy. Or the LS swap, get a lot of torque for cheap. Could even boost it. They all would cost about the same to swap. Question is how much fab work is required?

The problem with the DE is people don't build them right half the time if they did they would be pushing big power
@dheerajrajeevan4867 Жыл бұрын
I was re-watching this vid and noticed you mentioned you used HR headers for the DE with the HR manifold for the turbo kit. I was watching a different video from another channel on longtube header installation and I remember the dude tried DE headers on the HR but it actually lost a lot of low end torque so he planned on going back to HR style. I'm assuming it's a similar principle for installing HR headers on DE due to primary tube diameters being a tad too big. Not sure if things change when boosted since there will be a jump in flow and maybe the bigger sized piping can help but I know bigger isn't always better. This probably exacerbated your lack of low-end torque when you went with the big cams. Also I have a question, is there any reasonable way to keep longtubes but still incorporate a turbo kit? I would like to attempt this but that would most likely force me into a rear mounted setup. With a single exit, I'll have all the space I need on passenger exhaust side for turbo piping since the longtubes will take most of the space up front.
@nitish21 Жыл бұрын

Early torque can kill a stock block vq very quickly. Power in the top end is actually safer. But you can have quick spooling new age twins to get good low end power. What size rear tires and rims. I'm trying to get my sisters 2006 g35 stanced decent. She put 20x9 srt scat pack rims on g35 with 25.5 offset all around. I put 245/30zr20 for front needing a recommendation for rear tires the fronts look good with 245/30s prolly should've put 245/35 on front any ideas ?

Anyone know someone that can do a headlight and taillight conversion from a 2004 G35X sedan to coupe ones, I can’t find any people that have found fenders that’s swap nicely to fit both

Billet oil pump gear u just put that in the oil pump ?
@nitish214 жыл бұрын
Yea you replace the factory gear in the stock oil pump housing. I'd recommend getting a new oem oil pump to put that in

So in my location, its hard to find HR 350Zs an if I do find one they’re beat up to the point of no return or have a salvaged title with slight frame damage so I just stay away. DEs are easy to find for like 4 to 5k in my location. So the word is the VQHR/VHR blocks can handle 800hp on a stock block! What is needed for the DE block to stay good when running on forged internals with boost or will the stock block be okay?
@nitish214 жыл бұрын
Anyone who tells you vhr can do 800 on stock block is full of shit. They will make it but it won't last worth a damn. We made 730 and 760whp on two and 690 on another the only one still running is the 690 one and he parted out before we really got to test it out. 760 spun a bearing and 727 threw a rod.(dynamotorsports tuned) Even shewantsazee (admin tuned) just blew up at 700 and my other buddy blew up at 700 (btuned) Mind you these are cars that are best the shit out of consistently. 700+ doesn't last on a stock block if it's beat on. 600-650 all day long with beating I've seen them take it all day. A built de can do 900+ but all vqs start to push coolant and lift the head after 850whp unless added modification is done to the block to take larger diameter head studs or o ring the block etc. My car started doing the same which you'll see videos of soon as I'm behind on uploads but we made almost 900whp on this de stay tuned.

@@nitish21 So what would need to be done to the block itself for it to be okay besides the forged internals?
@_Zoctane4 жыл бұрын
Maybe I worded it wrong......? Of course the internals would need to be replaced right down to the barrings an so on, but I mean the engine block itself?
@nitish214 жыл бұрын
@@_Zoctane so the block of the de and hr/vhr can take upwards of 800whp without any modifications. The stock crank as well. So yes with the forged internals and bearings I would recommend getting a Dynosty billet main girdle if planning on pushing over 800whp. That being said I have heard stories of the cylinder walls starting to slightly oval out over 850whp. Some will recommend sending the block to CSS or RJM to make it into a closed deck block instead of open deck. That will strengthen the cylinder walls and also make a larger contact patch for the head gasket. If you run larger head studs that will require modification to the block itself to run those.

@@nitish21 that’s what I meant when I said stock block,, I meant the block itself can handle upwards of 800hp not the main internals... just trying to get everybody’s feedback because Z owners say differently than others an I figured you’d be the right guy to ask sense you have a DE.

I have a 2005 Autotragic G35 coupe😭 with the vq35DE, just picked it up last month. I just want a reliable, fun daily with like 350-400hp to the wheels. Should i go get an HR motor or you think building the block on mine is safe ?
