Just a moving tip, get some bright colored tape to tape all the way around those boxes you will need right away like your seeds, towels, TP, dishes, medications, bedding.... The things you need in the first few days or the first day. I also mark each box for what room it goes to and have the people helping me move put them in the appropriate rooms. It really helps you unpack better. I have moved over 50 times and this is the only way I do it now.

Hi Jill, how about setting a timer for an hour, trying to stay focused on 1 thing to finish! Then reward yourself with a walk through the garden for 15 minutes then back to packing! Most times bites are easier to swallow than the whole enchilada! Praying for you all! 🙌🙏❤️🥰

Liquor stores and grocery stores have amazing boxes. They usually have handles and are strong. When I move, I call them and they tell me when they get shipments and when I can come get some boxes. Good luck moving!

I have moved many times and the best advice I have is being sure every box is labeled with what’s in it and which room it belongs in. People helping you won’t have to ask which room you want it in and you don’t have to guess!! I find the kitchen the hardest to pack up.because, for me, it’s so hard to decide what items to pack early. I always needed something I already packed! I usually leave the kitchen and bathrooms to last but then regret that decision because, just like books, I don’t realize how much stuff I have in there until I start packing it up! 🙄 Most important items to unpack first is your beds and bedding. You will be so tired at the end of moving day that you need to have a place to rest well that night. However you do it…it will work out in the end.

Jill all those baskets can be put into the big cane shelfing inside and that shelf unit can be rolled into a big sheet. This way they don't get squashed. Every time you go over to your new place you can take plants and put them into the greenhouse. That way they get watered but not in the way for Jess and Miah.

Packing Tip: Make a "First Night" box. Things you will need right away like toilet paper, towels, some paper plates for first meals, soap, cleaning supplies, clothes, PJ's, bedding.

Get a big box like wardrobe box for light stuff ie.. those little chairs. Small boxes for books cause they are heavy. Use your linen towels etc for packing breakable organizing is over rated. Put on boxes June's Room. Etc Kitchen, living room. That way unpacking will be easier. Your girls are so sweet and beautiful. You already are labeling. God bless.

pegboard. Never liked moving. The hardest part was moving to Guam. We shipped some stuff that were needed right away then the rest was shipped separately. Nathan is right - organizing and labeling the boxes is very important. It will make it much easier on unpacking. Be sure to label the room the items are for and a short description of what is in there. Over the years some of the same boxes were reused but not labeled right so it was very frustrating looking for something you needed. Your so lucky with all those bookshelves for books. Whenever I see that in Jess's video - I say I want that some day. We had one home with built in bookcases and I loved it. People are always telling me why buy books, just look online. Sorry it is not the same. What if things crashed? I is something about flipping through a book to me. Your girls are so adorable.

Color code boxes with masking tape in various colors for specific people, areas and like things. Keep the seed tote accessible for when you find random packets. Don't stuff something in a box that doesn't belong with the other items contained therein. You will need a tote carried in your car for items you will need immediately: toilet paper, toothbrushes, sippy cups, arnica for sore muscles, paper plates for quick meals, utensils. Another 'open immediately' box for at least 5 days of clothing per person, bedding, bath towels, shampoo, soap and a small amount of laundry detergent. This way you are not digging through boxes just to put on clothes or take a shower. Important: Pack like things together. My fingers are itching because I want to do the packing for you!

Darling Jill, you will be just fine packing. I like many others here have moved too many times to count. My biggest helps for you are as follows: 1. Pack one room at a time.! 2. Take 3 totes , or boxes into each room. Box 1. Giveaway or toss. Box 2. Stuff that does not belong in that room. Box 3. Stuff to be packed. DO NOT move anything empty. Utilize your spaces ; dresser drawers, trunks, suitcases, etc. clothes remain in dresser drawers, etc. Use sheets, towels, bath mats etc to wrap lamps and other large valuables. I always used my laundry baskets for moving my girls toys, especially their favorites. ( now is a good time to have the girls donate any toys, clothes, shoes to your local favorite charity or thrift store). I use paper plates to put between my dishes and then wrap a stack in a sheet , towel, or whatever you wish. Label (yes Nathan is correct). No only with the content but whatever room it belongs in, that way anyone helping can place the appropriate box in the designated room. ( I made up sheets of paper and taped them on each doorway.). I'm known for packing in hard plastic laundry baskets. You will be surprised how much stuff you can stuff in them. Don't overthink packing I just put things in boxes and label even if it says "misc. office. "

In case you don't want to be bothered with putting tape on every side of the boxes to be labeled...........deep woods off mosquito repellent, in the green can, removes sharpie marker from most all plastics. And actually, I keep it on hand just for that one reason. Hope this helps! 😉❤ God bless.

Kitchen can be packed leaving out 5plates 5 cups 5 forks 5 spoons and 5knives and all small appliances packed... Leave out food and frying pan and coffee pot (2 weeks from move pack all spices in boxes and leave along walls in kitchen opened and food stuff and then tape up night before move ) good luck 👍😉 you got this .. We spent most of my youth moving every two years (thanks United States Navy) and my sister moves every 2-3 years (military spouse). We pack according to where things will go inside the new residence. Like we make a plan, and label every room, for the new place....not the old one.

I just moved about 6 weeks ago. Your husband has great points!! Also, pack a suitcase or something that will hold everything you will need for the first 48 hours in the new house. Clothes, toiletries, children’s items etc. good luck with the packing!!

Label the top and side of each tote and box. Pack each room ip.and label the box with "June's room", "bathroom", etc. Makes it so much easier when setting up the new house.

Jill, the plant name you are looking for is Wandering Jew. Also known as Tradescantia zebrina. We had a full garden bed of it when we moved in, and last winter my husband rebuilt that bed and we replaced the dirt to get rid of it! This is another plant like mint that will take over the yard if you plant it outside.

Label is huge. Number your boxes and write in a notebook what is in the boxes then your match book to boxes and so much easier to unpack. We had a huge amount of plants for us as well. Take a breath and go for it one room at a time sweet lady

BEST MOVING TIP - When actually moving into the new house before unpacking anything in the house put your beds together. Best advice I received. You will be tired and glad you did. The unpacking will slowly but for surely get done.

Uhaul has a video and a list of how to pack. But here's a few things to help. All your bureaus, pack as much clothing, blankets, towels in the drawers as possible and shrink wrap it. This way you can not waste boxes. Glassware, get a trashcan on wheels, line the bottom with bubble wrap, and start bubble wrapping your dishes and put inside, start with the heaviest items on the bottom. When full seal the lid on with tape. When you move you'll have new trash cans too. Closets clothes, just take them off the bar as is and wrap in your blankets, shrink-wrap them closed and they will be ready for your new closets. Good luck.

We so much alike I get started on our house it's been neglected since worked pulled.me more then and don't want let the garden go crazy bc plan to have food for winter. I get started then get overwhelmed then get distracted and then get started something else. Lord don't move something bc someone end up jess will end up with Jill and all movers on jess will accidentally pack something up of yours that woukd be a hot mess.

We moved almost two years ago and my kids were 2 and 4. Our house sold in two days so we only had like a week to pack and man it was stressful 🤦🏻‍♀️ so my advice is pack, pack, pack lol we literally packed until the early morning to get out in time for the new owners to move in.
