What a cool idea, I loved this video and I love you Cathy! Fantastic tips from all these wonderful Makers! I especially loved the silicone brush tool from Brandy McClurg as I always get those crumbs around the ring on my bath bomb press, so this is a great idea thank you xxx And Clyde I've NEVER noticed that a soap cut with a knife is shiny compared to a wire. We could clearly see the difference.

I love this video!!!! I just ordered silicone brushes and the mica blenders! Thanks to everyone who did this video! My favorite tools for soap making are stainless steel condiment cups. I use them to mix my micas in and then all I have to do is wash and reuse. One part in not adding any more plastic to the oceans!

My favorite soap maker was the Master Soapmaker Jackie Thompson. Because she was the only one that used a tool that was not designed for that specific job. Really shows she knows how to use whatever resources is around her. Ideal role model, bravo . think im gonna see if i can purchase soap from the master soapmaker. Also Clyde Yoshida from Vibrant Soap.

The chopstick. You can use it to measure micas, stir your batter for a nice design, create a pretty swirl on top, helps keep you from spilling fragrance oil when measuring, cleans up the sides of a mold filled with batter. Can't soap without one!

Hello all! I'm new here. I'm just getting into making soap and I love this channel. I do have a question that I cant seem to find an answer to tho. Is it possible to use all of these great cold process recipes, without using lye, and get the same results? The are so many awesome recipes and techniques I want to try but they are all cold process.
@annacox274 жыл бұрын
Rhonda Meighan with cold process soap, you have to have lye. It creates a chemical reaction during soaponification that makes the soap soap!

Would you PLEASE do a video on soaping with vinegar. I don’t sell soap but I do make my own and would really appreciate a video on how to use apple cider vinegar. Thank you.
@bytheSEAsoaps4 жыл бұрын
What is the purpose of adding vinegar to your soap?
@tiffanymantovani95004 жыл бұрын
bytheSEA Soap Mella it helps to balance the skins pH levels, it helps with acne and breakouts, it’s an anti inflammatory, it’s an exfoliating agent, unblock pores and is awesome for the vaginal area. I bought some a while ago but I’d like to make my own. Ive seen some videos about ACV soap making but there’s no details. I’m not looking to steal anyone’s recipe, just would like some detailed examples. Would be awesome if you could help. Thank you.

Wow all these amazing shoapers in one video 😀 Hay I have a question does anyone know how to turn alcohol into a gel?
@judydawson81734 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing off hand, heat the alcohol in double boiler once the steam becomes visual remove it from the boiler. If using gelatine, it should help.

What is the best electric conductvity for used water in soap thank you
@TheAccidentalViking3 жыл бұрын
Odd question, but I'll bite. Adding salts of any sort to water will increase its conductivity. Oils will decrease. So, a salt bar, with no super fat (which will be rather a strong soap) would increase conductivity of water. Or scrap the soap all together and just add some sort of salt. Conductivity increases as salinity and other inorganic molecules increases . Soap molecules are salts. (sodium cocoate, sodium palmate etc.) Salts are a type of metal ie: inorganic.
