wow. Thank you so much. You are a walking advert for your products. I will be aiming to make items for myself as well as test batches on friends. I just made a rose water body lotion. I wanted a lychee scent. Low and behold. Rosewater mixed with certain oils gave me the exact smell. Hope the smell doesn't evaporate. Ive made up 4 litres and put them in 100g bottles that are clear to see how they fare over time. I'd hate to gift something that loses it's scent. It's white and ive tested it on my excema and so far it's ok 3 days in. I wish brambleberry were closer as we pay customs fees from the states. I am watching your videos over and over . I am unable to work short term so I would be climbing the trees without something to do. Again thank you for the links. I wish I had half your energy for life. Best wishes from eva x

Thank u so much Ann Marie. U are such a blessing to this generation. This is what God meant in His word when He gave these scriptures in Exodus 31:1-5; Exodus 35:30-35 talking abt filling Bazalel with His Spirit to forge Jewelry, design, embroider n weave stuff. Please also read Mark 4:20 abt the good soil n Matthew 8:15. God is talking abt people like u on this planet earth. God bless u woman of god. Ure soap episodes are un-palatable-- more than educating n inspiring. God bless u the anointed one.

Thank you and keep up the good work.

Could you please tell how should I create the base in which I will add the essential oils? I've been trying for months to create a proper base but I've failed. I used jojoba oil and vodka as alcohol, kept the mixture for about 6 weeks and in the end there was a blurry, whitish liquid because the alcohol and the oil couldn't have mixed together. Is there any successful alternative for perfumes alcohol? Any advice would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

This is a very informative video! I've tried other methods of perfume making, but they didn't work so well. Would it be possible for you to make a video of perfume oils? Like the roll on kind in the drams? They're the only kind of perfume that I really like to use, as they seem to last for over 10 hours, and they're fairly cheap to buy from sellers on artfire and etsy so I'd imagine the materials can't cost much which is nice for people like me who are on a budget. Thanks for all your helpful videos!

on so i think i may know what i did wrong, but i wanted to ask an expert that i trust to give me the correct answers. anyway, i made my first perfume with all the ingredients you used but with different sent. but the cloudiness never went away. i followed the measurements exactly but i added the polysorvate last. could that be why? its not separating or anything and smells great. its just still that milky color. it looked as though it WAS turning clear as i was first mixing, but it clouded right back up. i mixed forever thinking that may be the issue but it did not help:( i was also wondering if i could use soap dye to give some color and maybe try to hide the milky look.?lol thank you so much! you and Bramble berry have helped me so much and provided me countless hours of enjoyment creating my own cosmetics and many other things. thank you so so much!! forever a huge fan!!! and forever a loyal customer of BB!!!

I think you may need a bit more Polysorbate! That cloudiness usually means the recipe isn't fully emulsified. I would recommend adding another mL and mixing again. You can do that until the mixture goes clear. =) Polysorbate 80: www.brambleberry.com/Polysorbate-80-P4438.aspx

Hello! A great way to resize your recipes is to find out the percentage of each ingredient. To do that, add up all the amounts in the recipe to get the total. Then, divide each individual amount by the total. Once you have the percentages, you can resize based on your spray bottle. I'll include a blog post that has more helpful information! =) Soapy Math: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/tips-and-tricks/math-soapers/

Also what is the difference between Polysorbate 80 and Polysorbate 20?
@bramble-berry
@bramble-berry 8 жыл бұрын
+Brie Clark Hi Brie! We didn't try Phenonip in this recipe, but I believe it would work just fine! Phenonip is a great all-purpose preservative that works in a wide variety of products. You can use it at 1% of the total weight of your recipe. I would recommend making a small test batch just to see if it works well. =) Learn more about using preservatives here: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/lotion/talk-it-out-tuesday-preservatives/ Also, Polysorbate 20 is typically used to emulsify fragrance or essential oils, while Polysorbate 80 is used to emulsify heavier carrier oils, like olive oil. If you have a trickier fragrance or essential oil, Polysorbate 80 can really help get it emulsified. We tested 20 and 80 with our perfume and found 80 worked better. It may take a bit of testing with your recipe, as each fragrance oil is a bit different! Read more about the difference in this awesome post by Susan Barclay-Nichols: swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/2010/05/question-polysorbate-20-vs-polysorbate.html

Google result "A fragrance including water would seem richer to the nostrils since the water would aid unleash the aroma from essential oils, whereas the alcohol concentration would keep it behind. Polysorbate 80 is synthetic. Rubbing alcohol is cheap but use good vodka instead. Never put on your skin anything you wouldn't feel was fit to eat, then add essential oils.

+eileenfb1948 Everything in this recipe is skin safe! We have done a lot of research and testing on this recipe and feel safe using it on our skin. If you're not comfortable with the liquid option, you may like the solid perfume! It's made with oils like coconut, meadowfoam, avocado and beeswax. Because it's all oil and wax, no emulsifier is needed. =) Solid Perfume Base: www.brambleberry.com/Solid-Perfume-Base-P5884.aspx

hi! i had a few questions and was hoping you can help. one, i like really strong scents. using this method, could i double the amount of fragrance oil while still keeping the amount of optiphen, alcohol, polysorbate, and water? two, i noticed on the bramble berry site, the essential oils and fragrance oils don't mention in the description that they can be used for perfume. most of the descriptions talk about how they can be used in soaps and stuff, and most people who review the oils don't mention anything about using them in perfumes. do you ever have any problems using these oils in perfumes? is there a difference between fragrance oil and essential oil? if i make a spray perfume, can i combine both of these types? thanks!

***** Any oil that can be used in soaps can be used in perfumes. If they can be used in soaps, they are cosmetic grade or "skin-safe". Essential oils are extracted from plants. Fragrance oils can be synthetic or blended esentials oils to produce a specific scent. You can combine essential oils and fragrance oils so long as they are both cosmetic grade or "skin-safe".

You should watch her fragrance and essential oils video. She explains it well. The reason why you don’t often see the reviews mentioning perfume is because perfume is not often made. Soap is much more commonly made also considering that brambleberry is mostly a soap supply store

Hi Soap Queen! Quick question: is it ok to mix essential oils with fragrance oils? And if so, do I still need to use preservative? Thanks for the video!
@bramble-berry
@bramble-berry 8 жыл бұрын
You can mix fragrance and essential oils! They smell really nice together. Also, preservatives are needed when the recipe contains water. So you will still need a preservative for the spray perfume recipe, but not for the solid perfume recipe. =) Read more about preservatives here: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/lotion/talk-it-out-tuesday-preservatives/ How to Blend Essential Oils Safely: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/tips-and-tricks/how-to-blend-essential-oils-safely/ Fragrance Oil Blending Tips: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/tips-and-tricks/fragrance-oil-blending-tips/

Is there any concern for the oils to mess up the plastic bottles? I remember when I first found a really nice smelling oil a long time ago. I added it to a travel size pray bottle as a way to diffuse it when I wore it. I didn't know that oils and plastics don't get along. I know you added an emulsifier. Does that play a role, or do you use a specific grade/type of plastic bottle?

Hi, Great question! You're right, it is never a good idea to leave undiluted essential or fragrance oil in a plastic container -- it will eat through the plastic (I learned that the hard way too)! However, because this essential oil is being mixed into a base of oils and waxes, it won't eat through plastic like it would if it was just plain oil =)
