What do you think? Would a history class like this keep you interested?
@argantyr5154
@argantyr5154 3 жыл бұрын
It certainly would, but then again I've always loved history, I was lucky enough to have an amazing history teacher when I was at school. However I've never heard of this story before Sabaton, and I don't think any of my friend knew of it either. I must say I love you guys reactions. Take care and keep up the good work, greeting from Denmark.

Yes. Would you like to react to Hearts of Iron? It's their song about the German general Walter Wenck who is ordered to relieve Berlin in face of an overwhelming attack from the east and the west. Berlin is almost fully surrounded, but instead of following orders from his superiors who have clearly lost touch with reality, he decides to use his men to get as many civilians as possible out of Berlin.

The moron on the right says that these girls went to die instead of living under the "terrible" Stalin. They went to help win. They went to protect. Protect their husbands, brothers and relatives who fought in other sectors of the front. To protect those who remained in the rear - the elderly and children, some of whom worked for victory, and the other part could not because of their age. And this idiot sits and crows about the "terrible" Stalinist Russia. Learn history before you open your mouth - it was not Russia that fought, but the Soviet Union - this is for you, idiot, for a start.

Sabaton has an incredible way of telling unknown/forgotten stories of war that shows bravery and dedication outside of the normal stuff we all learn in school and from movies. Doesn't matter what country you're from, they include all. Good and bad, simply keeping history alive. Great reaction as always.

That the commissar took it on herself to find every crashside where one of 'her girls' was downed allways gets me.😢

Sorry for my English, but I have to say. This is a completely wrong idea about the realities of those days in the USSR. I am Russian and in most cases I know what I'm talking about. Yes, Stalin is really an ambiguous person.There were a lot of different things, and bad ones too. But you must understand the situation in which a huge country has found itself. A three-million-strong army crosses borders without declaring war. And it kills everything that moves. Border units, the civilian population. It burns down houses, destroys cities together with the inhabitants. No offers of surrender, just death without demands. This fire rink reaches Moscow, literally burning the earth. But women went to war for other reasons. They did not choose between a bad life and the front line. There was no choice at all. 27 million people died. official statistics. We just didn't have enough people to fight. A terrible and cruel reality. The war took the lives of the strongest and youngest guys. People just went to take revenge and kill. A war on your own territory is a terrible thing. People fought not for politics, but simply for their families. It's scary. Stalin's cruelty was nowhere near here. People won not because Stalin ordered them to do so. The guys covered the enemy pillboxes with their bodies, because there is no other way. And the time was cruel for everyone. The country has just experienced the First World War, then the revolution and the civil war. Three wars. On their own land. Without tough measures, the economy simply could not be saved. After the Second World War, the most economically developed part of the country was destroyed again. Literally destroyed. Factories, entire cities lay in ruins. There are no young people, everyone is dead. Stalin was an ambiguous leader with his own weaknesses and strengths. But Nazism was not part of his plans. He was busy trying to quickly establish the economy. Twice after two devastating wars. There was no other way. Otherwise, the country would have simply been devoured by some partners in the anti-Hitler coalition. Yes, this is a cruel reality. Thank you for your reaction.

Exactly. My great grandparents survived those times under Stalin and even went through gulag. And even they used to say that Stalin was terrifying but was the only person to get the shit done.

No whining, no entitlement, no complains about oppressive patriarchy... these girls did the best they could with what they were given and fought with the same dedication and readiness to sacrifice their lives as their male counterparts. If that's not an example of what women should be, I don't know what is.

This is a huge misconception about the bad life in the USSR and the terrible Stalin. The whole country and women and children stood up to defend their Motherland, including my grandmother, at the age of 18, volunteered for the front, was a medical instructor. My grandfather lost both legs in the war, but he came back alive. Do not listen to the nasty things that are said about the USSR, it was a wonderful country!!!!

Their commander wanted to go find her girls remains, because the ones who didn't return were called traitors and defectors. She wanted to prove that they died defending their country. Глупость. Англосаксонская глупость. "Сталин был таким плохим что все пошли защищать его власть. Из страха." Как у Вас это в голове помещается? У Вас шизофрения - это опасно. Принимайте таблетки.
