I have said it before and will say it again - you turn the ordinary into a work of art!! I only hope the Winterail audience realized your skill and talent and recognized you appropriately. My wish for you is that someone from the BNSF organization sees this and sends it up the ladder to the "C-Suite" for recognition. The quality of this presentation belongs on the screen in the board room during a meeting so everyone can better understand the "true grit" of daily operations of railroading. It is of that high a quality level to be shown there!! Great job, be very proud of your work!!

Dan, that is a beautiful presentation. I live in Nebraska , so we don't have quite that kind of scenery and I enjoy seeing your presentations. I watch the videos partly as a railfan and partly as a model builder. Your videos show some delightful bridges, trestles, cuts, tunnels, and such. Some very inspiring structures, plus you present some nice footage showing the approach routes to the bridges. It's often easier to model a bridge than to depict how the tracks get on and off said bridge. Thank you for your fine videos. I'll stay tuned for more!

This is an amazing compilation video. The locations are breathtaking from start to finish. The different seasons adds a lot to the experience. The orange pumpkins stands out from the snow covered landscape. I guess the Amtrak engine is only there for backup if something happens with the steam locomotive. By the way that particular train was a fantastic catch. I'm sure the guests really enjoyed your video, no wonder they applauded it at the end. Excellent job as always Dan.
@TheRailfanDan7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much Z I'm glad you enjoyed! I had a lot of fun putting this together and playing with the different seasons. The Amtrak engine provides power for all the cars being towed and yes backup as well. That 4449 trip was back in 2017 and I hadn't even been flying for a year. It is very special because we may never see it run the mainline again.

Applause! Applause! Most definitely! That was a magnificent show. Your videography is always top notch. Watching, it made me wonder; what if Amtrak had a Seattle to LA train that was routed along the Columbia River east of Vancouver, down the Oregon Trunk to Klamath, down the Gateway to Keddie and the Feather River Canyon. From Oroville to Sacto, down to Bakersfield and over Tehachapi, a run through the high desert to Barstow (or maybe skip Barstow and stop in Victorville instead), and then over and down Cajon to LA. I'd ride that train in every season more than once!
@TheRailfanDan7 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot Jeff! Oh man I am right there with you. I would ride that in a heartbeat and give chase another time! Once upon a time the Coast Starlight used to detour both lines when the UP lines would be shut down. Those days are over sadly and I'm real bummed I missed that era.
@J3scribe7 ай бұрын
@@TheRailfanDan Since Amtrak seems so amped on adding new routes, they would be wise to at least test market that route. People ride trains for the views.

Beautiful presentation of trains and scenery on the BNSF Oregon Trunk line, Dan! Your editing of the various scenes in this video was excellent. The drone footage was excellent. I was not aware that the Oregon Trunk was part of the Portland, Spokane & Seattle Railway, Dan, until you mentioned it the line was completed by the SP&S at the beginning of the video. I do not remember hearing or seeing a mention of the builder of the Oregon Trunk in any of your prior videos on this line.
@TheRailfanDan7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much Thomas! That is right I don't think I ever have mentioned it was the SP&S. They actually didn't begin building it but they finished it. The SP&S completed the portion from Wishram to Bend and the Great Northern built the section from Bend to Chemult OR. The GN also built South from Klamath Falls OR to Bieber CA where they met with the Western Pacific who built from Keddie to Bieber.
