The track is not in the best shape, but at least the railroad is working on it. The route goes through a really beautiful area. Trees on both sides, the river and the highway, they are all spectacular. The vegetation was green and healthy. I'm sure crews like to work here. Very nice update Dan.

Thank you for this Soaring the Rails Episode, Dan! I enjoyed soaring along the Goose Lakw Railway through the North Fork Pit River Canyon. In addition to enjoying the scenery as we soared over the track, it was heartening to see that Goose Lake Railway was upgrading the roadbed by replacing ties so that they can keep the line viable. Thanks a lot Thomas I'm glad you enjoyed! It is great to see work being done on this line.

With all the new track work after the ballast crew goes true the line will be good for a long time. I like seeing the old lines put back in shape instead of pulling the track when they do that generally its gone for ever. Thank you for your time Dan and keep doing what your doing. Paul

Very nice video. Just a tiny little idea that imho would improve at least my viewer experience ... I wish you could show some details of structures along the track, like the little bridge at 0:35 where I would like to see some side images.

Thank you that is a good idea! Sometimes I get tunnel vision doing these videos so I'll have to try and make a conscious effort but it would add to it!

Really a nice shot. What speed do You fly at? Cine, Normal? Trimmed the joysticks in a particular way?
@TheRailfanDan3 ай бұрын
Well thanks! Usually between 20 and 30mph in these Soaring videos. Actually flying all in sport mode so I can hover close to the ground and not be impeded by the sensors which try to throttle the speed way back in normal mode because of sensing the ground. I believe my stick controls are customized a little and I also use extended sticks which give you better control from the extra length.
@Stefan_Boerjesson3 ай бұрын
@@TheRailfanDan Any tip how You adjusted the joystick curves? I feel they are first not responsive, then over responsive, for flights like Yours.
@TheRailfanDan3 ай бұрын
That's a good question. I know my adjustments on there are pretty minimal but the huge difference, at least for me, is using the longer sticks. They really do help me to achieve more subtle movements which is very much needed for these videos. Search for DJI RC controller extended sticks and they will come up.
@Stefan_Boerjesson3 ай бұрын
@@TheRailfanDan I have tried flying above the tracks but making small heading adjustments result in too much of correction. First nothing happens, and then. too much. My first guess was that You altered the curves for the joysticks and wondered how You did it. But as You say, searching for longer pins, or making them, will be tested.
@Stefan_Boerjesson3 ай бұрын
@@TheRailfanDan Just found longer sticks and som more. I'll get out and test those sticks when I've got them.
