Equaity of opportunity > equality of outcome

Why not equity? Because people are individuals with their own history and benefits and shortcomings. To apply equity you need to put people into groups and treat groups differently based on assumed differences. That when you realize individuals in those groups have their own histories means you are not being equitable. Therefore you need to have a single standard for everyone to work towards,... equality.

what are the things that make communication so difficult in society? What types of communication dynamics exist for different classes of society to reach a consensus?

As for the first question, a few things: 1. We don't start with the same definitions for words (i.e. equality, equity, white supremacy, man, woman, patriot, etc). Definitions matter 2. We live in a world where we can essentially "live" in our own echo chambers. Social media sadly plays a big part in this by affirming those biases and echo chambers through an algorithm that feeds the same biases and echo chambers. 3. The goal of communication seems to be to "win" rather than "seeking understanding".

The same food on a platter, or in a box, can the way it is presented to you affect how you taste it? Can our biases effect how we perceive our reality?

This is common. Community College is also for those whose parents don't want to contribute.

Most college students would be better off going to community college the first two years anyways, same stupid useless courses.

Any attempt to make things "fair" for everyone is an exercise in futility. What seems fair to you may not seem fair to me. If there is no agreement on the definition of "fair," then there is absolutely no possibility of achieving a state of fairness. People are individuals. By definition that means there are differences in people. Differences in people will inevitably result in different outcomes, no matter what "structure" is put into place. The use of race as a substitute (and a poor one at that) for a combination of socioeconomic status, subculture, or other variables which are far more accurate at predicting success in school and achieving goals in life than race is a travesty. Knowing your history can help you understand why you are in your current situation in life, but if you allow that knowledge to dictate what you believe is possible for yourself in the future, you do yourself a great disservice. Any attempt to "level the playing field" needs to be done long before students apply for college. There is no way to put everyone on the same starting line at that point. To the extent that the tests used for admission standards are accurate in predicting success at a given educational institution, those tests measure how close people are to each other in terms of a "starting line." Anyone not properly prepared to run the race should not be set up for failure over the desire for "fairness."

Structure is cope. There is no structure for genetics. Inequality is due to genetic differences between races.
