Then with those armored SWAT vans they could have simply pushed the blue car to the far right side of the highway. This is probably the most overwhelming idiotic law enforcement response I have witnessed in 30 years. Makes me want to get out of this state. If one guy can shut down a major freeway for hours… just imagine what some real bad guys could do.

There were 185 cops on scene. Meanwhile, in the surrounding area, there were 6 holdups, 4 beatings, 3 car jackings, multiple street level drug deals, and countless acts of violence against people and property. Everything was peaceful an hour after the cops cleared the scene. That's some fantastic law enforcement in Southern California. However, in Northern California, the police haven't responded to a single call in months. They don't want to offend the offenders. California...gotta hate it!

California police are very experienced at this, they do it often and have it down to a science. They take the time they need to do it right even if it does inconvenience drivers. Uncontrolled police chases have killed a lot of innocent people. Years ago, in the town I was working, police were in a pursuit and shot out the tires. The van rolled killing three young teenage boys. The police have gotten a lot smarter and more humane.
