Why aren't these fire resistant upgrades mandatory in the state building code - especially in fire prone areas? All new development should require them.

Always be the prepared. Fire resistant, not fire proof. But sometimes the simplest things make a difference. There was a guy in napa that rebuilt his home out of concrete since lumber prices are out of control. A Much more fire proof design.

if the state gave incentives to homeowners to have this done then maybe we can save millions if not billions from fighting wildfires $4000 is a small price to pay for a home that costs over a million

A cistern to capture rain, that feeds a sprinkler system to soak the house from the roof down and at all the screened vents would eliminate any possibility of a fire started by embers,

So for me, I think of your neighbors homes on fire and just heating your home. There is a water nozzle in Australia fire engines that puts out fires better than American nozzles because of fighting Eucalyptus tree fires. Maybe a Cistern to hold water for fire fighters or yourself. Smart house directional sprinklers have not been invented yet so maybe figure this out too. Good Luck.

Maybe they will tear down his house because the government don’t like it or maybe the government will change his mind and maybe when you buy line you can build your house however you want. The only way you’re going to have a gray house is Hass to be cement and brakes just like Mexico or other countries. These houses in the United States are ridiculous pain 30 years for a house that’s just a paper plate.

Good god...he just did everything recommended to homeowners for normal maintenance and called it "fire-resistant"? We're getting really dumb as a species. The real irony is that he's probably affected the airflow out of the house with all that mesh, more heat conducting metal, so when the heat comes, the windows will blow out and make bigger holes for embers. Is he selling consultations for this now? If people are willing to buy this, who am I to say it's wrong. I hope it doesn't get tested.
